Cute lunch check-in - Dr. Seuss edition

Saturday is Dr. Seuss' birthday, so most of this week had a Seussy theme. I've got a few more ideas so the celebration will continue into next week.

Hello Kitty! Easy peasy. Cookie cutter sandwich, blueberries on a pick, some cherry tomatoes, Snapea Crisps and a side of gigantic strawberries. Done!

Tweetle Beetle Battle! PBHoney wrap sandwich with blueberries, clementine/orange M&M "beetles" plus pretzel sticks. (I didn't take a picture of the other layer, which held fruit, crackers and cheese.) DD didn't like the taste of the Flat Out wraps I used and I can't blame her - I tried them and they were gross. But I still liked this lunch!

Daisy-Head Maizey (fail!). You can barely see the daisy pick on top of her head! PB/honey sandwich with cheese and sprinkle details. Her clothes are silicone divider pieces. There are also Snapea Crisps and blueberries in that layer. The bottom layer has strawberries, a checkered apple and a container of mini Goldfish. (This is a bento box for sushi rolls, so I don't use it often. I thought it would be hard to find foods to fit it, but I was wrong!)

The fish from Cat in the Hat! I don't think people like these kinds of lunches because it seems really labor-intensive to print out a picture, cut it out and use it as a template for cutting the cheese. While it does take a few minutes, it's not hard and LOOK how cute he is! I literally only had half a piece of Cheddar cheese left in the house but still made this little guy. His eye is a tiny piece of Provolone with a black sprinkle, and it's on a ham & cheese sandwich (which was untouched). The other layer holds Thing 1 and Thing 2 strawberry/cheese things with blueberries and more mini Goldfish.

The kite from Cat in the Hat. My toddler was getting into *everything* so this easy lunch took way longer than it should have. Mini sealed PB/honey sandwiches  topped with cheese/fruit strip, plus a pick for the "string." On the side are three huge strawberries, a box of raisins and a container of mini Goldfish.

If you're looking for more Seuss ideas, these are two I did last year:

The Lorax!

Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose, Thing 1 and Thing 2, a Truffula tree, One Fish Two Fish .., the Cat in the Hat's hat plus the fish in the bowl. Phew

Have a great week. PIP your cute lunches here!

  • Do you have a blog?  Cuz, I'm telling you, you need a blog for all of this cuteness.

  • These are really great!  I tried a Dr. Seuss breakfast making green eggs and ham and it was a total fail.  DD will not eat anything green.
