Re: Congrats, Virginia!

  • It is going to be one chaotic tournament this year... brackets are going to be really tough to sort out.  Tons of really good teams, but none that really seem transcendent like Kentucky last year.

Always good to see Duke go down.

I am definitely dreading filling out my bracket this year.  May be better off just flipping a coin for a lot of match ups.

  • This year has been the first time in a LONG time that I've actually been excited about Michigan basketball.  I'm looking forward to the Big 10 tourney as it should be pretty competitive.

Big10 tourney is going to be a blood bath.  I am tempted to drive down to Chicago to watch the Badger games.

  • Duke has not been able to deal with athletic teams for the longest time now.  Them just seem overmatched in those situations.  They should do what the Badgers do against more athletic teams and slow the game down big time, instead of trying to run with these teams.

Who ends up number one at the end of the week, Gonzaga??

  • Gonzaga is the only top 4 team not to lose this week, so yeah, I'd imagine Gonzaga is your new #1.  At that point, you might see the Indiana drop to #2, and Duke to stay put at 3.

As of right now I see it as:

    1. Gonzaga
    2. Indiana
    3: Kansas
    4/5: Duke/Georgetown

College Basketball has been heading this way for years. I feel like because the tournament has gotten so big, a lot of players are more willing to be the star on a 2nd tier team than be the #7 guy on Duke's roster. It really feels like there's a lot more parity between the top teams and those in the #20-#30 range.

There are at least 6 teams I feel could legitimately win the Big Ten tournament, although my Gophers are a bit of a long shot.

And the 6 teams at the top are still jockeying for those top 4 spots and the first round bye.  Most play each other a couple times in the last three games.

I think the Hoyas will edge out Duke.  Their RPI on this run has been through the roof the last three weeks, second best in the nation I believe.

I agree. I just don't know if the voters will look past the Duke 'prestige.'  That's why I put it as 4/5.

  • The voters have been on Duke's package forever.  Cannot stand it!!

Everytime they lose I smile out loud for a moment....love it!

I wish Miami could have held onto the roll they were on.  They are so athletic I think they will go into Cameron and beat them again on Saturday.  It will be a great game!
