Trying to crawl in crib

LO is not quite crawling yet but shes all over the place trying, rolling, scooting etc. she has always fought going to sleep at naps and bedtime. It's a dream when she lets me nurse/rock her to sleep, but about 50 of the time she just won't fall asleep. So I rock sing say I love you night night and put her in her crib where sometimes she screams cries herself to sleep. It sucks: well now she is flipping over rolling around trying to crawl all over her crib! She gets stuck in one corner with her legs sticking out, I'll go in and adjust her. Then she flipped around to the other side and she just goes on and on and now it's been an hour with her playing and still no morning nap. Idk what to do anymore, he used to fuss/cry herself to sleep now she's playing. I finally moved her to her swing but she thinks that's play time too so well see!

Re: Trying to crawl in crib

  • When they learn or are about to learn a new skill, they become obsessed with it. It can consume them at times. So they suddenly won't care about self soothing, because it's not nearly as important as this new skill. Be patient, as it is just a phase, but we did have to go a few steps backwards in our sleep training when LO started to learn how to crawl. It lasted maybe a week total before he was back to his old routine. Good luck!
