So this is my first period since February 2010 as I did not have any periods on the Mirena. Because of tat, I've never worn a tampon since having my son.
Well, today TWO tampons have simply FALLEN out!! I certainly never experienced that previous to childbirth and now I'm really concerned about the state of my vag. You would think my DH would have said something at some point though. Then again, maybe he's just not that stupid.
Please tell me this has happened to someone else. Maybe it's because I switched to up and up tampons??
lol Never experienced this since I don't use tampons anyway, but I would think it's totally possible that because you are using a different brand, they are different. And maybe you did "expand" a little after childbirth? Try going up a "flow size".

TTC #1 since May 2012
May 2013: First R.E. appointment
DH: SA is good
May 2013: CD3 Blood work-normal June 2013: Hsg-Right tube blocked
July 26, 2013: Starting Follistim for IVF #1
August 2013: IVF #1 Cancelled- Abnormal embryos
October/November 2013: IVF #2 w/ICSI
November 8, 2013: Transferred two early blasts (no frosties)
I'm sorry, but I giggled a little bit at "state of my vag".nbsp; Were they really full? That could cause a decrease in friction allowing them to slide right out.
They weren't very full but it could have been user error in inserting them. I felt like the applicator thing was kind of loose so maybe they weren't inserted enough.
Ok. Total reading comprehension fail. I thought you were saying you had tampons in there from 3 years ago. Hence the horrified look.
Actually, yes. It has happened to me. I forgot I already had one in and put another light flow one in. This happened to me in high school, and I was still a virgin. So I think your vag is a-ok!
ETA: I should add that when it happened to me they didn't fall out, two just came out when I went to change it again.
Haha! That would be terrifying. Although I don't think you could go through childbirth and still have tampons chilling up there lol.
ETA: by "that would be terrifying", I mean if I was excreting 3 year old tampons.
I think maybe my wording should have been slid out. Not fell out. LOL.
Like didn't tug the string at all?
No tugging. Went to the bathroom because I could tell I was leaking and it was half way out. Then I sat down and it came all the way out. Thank goodness I was wearing a backup pad.
In my defense it was a "light" tampon since it's CD1. My flow was heavier today than it normally would have been before on CD1 so maybe it was fuller than I thought.
You're making me question myself even more Banker!!!
I think maybe my wording should have been slid out. Not fell out. LOL.
Like didn't tug the string at all?
Did you maybe kegal push it out while peeing?
Or like "Holy Crap what a slippery slope my vag is,I've got a tampon in my undies?"
.
I'm going to go with this explanation. My kegels are just so strong that I pushed it out. And it fell out while peeing, so it must be a valid explanation.
Yeah I kinda had that problem. Before kids I only ever needed a super tampon, but after I sometimes have to use the super plus, for their 'girth' if you will
dh swears my vag still feels tight but I don't know if I believe him, although he does finish in near record time almost every time so it must not be that bad haha
I haven't really had any "fall out" since having D but I've had them...uh...slowly work their way down to the point where its uncomfortable and I have to take it out. If that makes any sense.

. LOL at your DH comment! I just asked mine again and he swears it feels the same as before the kid. Not so sure I believe him either.
I've never had one fall out, but I have had an insertion fail and it was too low & I could feel it kind of sticking out. And I also had the same thing as Hatchet one time, the two tampon thing.
I'd go with the too-small-tampon & strong Kegels explanation.

Yeah I'll be going back to tampx after this box is gone. Glad I'm not the only one.
You should xp this on parenting. They'd get a kick out of it. Lol. I've had some that have been inserted too low or worked its way down and became uncomfortable but never in my life has one slid out.

I piss myself on the reg since having children. The other day my 4 year old said I am just like her baby sister since I also pee my pants. No tampons have fallen out, but have not had to use them yet, I am sure they will when the time comes. I am very seriously considering vaginal rejuvenation, because I want my 20 year old vagina back!

yes, no ned for embarrassment, It happens. Everyone comes in al different shapes and sizes. When they are saturated they come out more easily, sneezing, laughing, whatever. The vag fluctuates just like our cycles.

Sorry I can't offer any advice as I almost never use tampons, but I just wanted to say what a delight this whole thread has been. It's given me a number of out loud laughs and it was a good way to end my evening. Thanks for being so obliging with your vag stories ladies, much appreciated!!

I'm dying laughing! Thank all of you for making my night!
I haven't had this experience, but because you've all been so wonderfully candid I thought someone out there might relate to this...
My first ever time using a tampon I didn't read the instructions so I stuck the whole darn thing in there, cardboard applicator and all. I was sooo uncomfortable I couldn't understand why women would do that to themselves, lol!
Maybe they weren't "in there" properly? Like they weren't high enough?
After thinking about this more, I inspected the tampons themselves. Compared to otter brands I've used, they are very short. It's definitely possible, especially as I'm three years out of practice of inserting them that I just didn't put them in far enough.
I haven't had problems with tampons falling out since having ds and my DH swears it feels exactly the same. I do actually believe him because sex for the first three months pp felt like I was a virgin again. I did a ton of kegals before and after ds.
Though I have heard of this happening. I had a co worker tell me that she can't wear tampons anymore because they just fall out from having two kids. I was terrified!

I had this problem w my usual brand, playtex, after dd. someone on my bmb suggested ob. I am converted to an ob believer! They fit my post baby self so much better than playtex or tampax... Never have a leak anymore. I highly suggest giving them a try.

I loved OB but I can't find them with the applicator anymore. I felt like they offered a lot more protection than the tampax I use now.

This all cracked me up. "Wait. It fell out?" was exactly what I thought. I swam competitively for 10 years after I got my period and have seen a lot of tampon issues.
Some will argue with this but generic tampons just aren't as absorbant, they are more like a plug. OB or Tampax were my go-to's.
Over-saturated tampons of any brand will leak and slip because that is heavy. I'm guessing that it made it to the "point of no return" and your kegels gave it a nudge. Your vag is fine.
The menstrual cup changed my life. Highly recommended.
