Recommend your maternity workout pants/capris!

Hi ladies,

I'm at the point where my previous workout pants (mostly capri tights) are starting to get a little tight around the belly area, so in the next few weeks I need to order a few pairs of maternity workout pants or capris.  I'll be bigger in the summer, so I would prefer capris since they will be a bit cooler.  Does anyone have some workout capris they love and could recommend?  Thanks!!

  • I used Old Navy ones and really liked them. Comfy and cheap :)

  • I love foldover yoga pants. I have a few Target pairs and some from Victoria's Secret that I wore before BFP that are still working for me, I just roll them down a little further and wear a longer top so there isn't bump hanging out when I run.
  • I'm wearing these yoga pants from Old Navy right now. I'm just up a size from pre-pg.

  • All of my lululemon prepregnancy pants still fit me now and I'm 38 weeks and have gained about 24 pounds.  I highly recommend them.

  • Lululemons should get you through your entire pregnancy.  My friends swear by them.  I'm not a fan of Lulu b/c I think it's too costly for what it is.  I'm still wearing all of my Nike pre pregnancy capris (and I've gained 30+ lbs).  They have a lot of stretch and sit low.  I'm pretty much all belly but if you're not, just size up (I have two pairs in a M b/c I was worried my S wouldn't fit and they are a bit more forgiving but not loose).  I only purchased one maternity specific piece of workout gear, (a top), and never wear it.

If, however, you're looking for affordable maternity workout capris try the GapFit Line.  I'm pretty sure there was at least one pair of capris available.

  • Alot of the capris I wore PP now don't fit me post pregnancy b/c the hips got stretched out so if you hope to wear your capris again after pregnancy, keep that in mind.  FWIW, my PP capris were worn below my belly but still stretched quite a bit.  I bought wicking fabric exercise wear from this site:

They were pricey but survived the entire pregnancy and are very comfortable. I worked out every day until I delivered at ~41 wks and managed with 1 pair capris and 2 short sleeve shirts.  I just had to launder them a bit more frequently than I'd like.

  • I am still able to wear all of my Lululemon Wunderunders. I also love my Wunderunder Astro crops. The waistband folds down! Pricey, but last forever!
  • I wear yoga capris and long pants from Victoria's Secret and my same running shorts (Nike brand, I think). With the VS pants and capris, the waist band can just roll right under the belly!
