Super excited to be expecting in July! We don't know the sex of the baby but were already tossing around names. If a girl her name will be Ebony Diamond. Clueless for a boy tho. Here are the ones we like; Tyrone, Tyshawn and Tarrell. As of now we are leaning to wards Tyshawn because we can call him Shawn which is also a white name. See we are white but we love the black folk names too.
Suggestions would help alot!

For a girl, I prefer Fuchsia Sapphire. I think it has a nicer flow.

If you're going for Ebony Star, you might as well just go all the way in and do Peaches Fallen Angel. Much better for when her name is called to make her way to the dance floor.

A couple of weeks ago I saw the name Mudsley on this board. I would like to suggest this name in this case as well. Mudsley Luxxx and Mudsley Foxxx both have great flow.

Ebony is fine, too, but I agree that Ebony Diamond is too much. That goes for most names that are adjective + common noun. How about Ebony Samara, Ebony Aaliyah, or Ebony Amaya?

It's fascinating that you want to use black "folk names." In my limited experience, I obviously am not well versed in black mythology and oral tradition. What stories are Tyrone, Tyshawn, and Tarrell featured in? And what tribes are those stories associated with?
