I know some of you since I've been around the bump block for a while during our struggle with IF. I've been a regular poster on IF, IFV, and TPR. But for those of you that don't know me, my embryo adoption adventure saga is on my blog link in my siggy. But here it is in a nutshell:
DH was dignosed with severe MFI and I have severe DOR (undetectable AMH.) I had a pathetic IVF cycle using my OE that was cancelled due to no response even using 600iu stims intramuscularly. After that massive failure, we were led to embryo adoption.
I put my feelers out there and tried all of the normal ways (miracles waiting, our clinic, etc) to find available embryos, but but I was hitting dead ends at every turn. I made a post on baby center EA forum expressing how hopeless I felt. From that post, a woman named Vicky contacted me saying she had five embryos to donate that had been frozen for over ten years. However, she was not the genetic mother of them because she had received them from an anonymous couple who used an anonymous egg donor at her clinic approximately six years earlier. She wanted to have an open relationship with whoever received them because she had a 4 year old son who she wished would know his future genetic siblings born from these embryos. Since adopting these embryos, Vicky and I have formed a fantastic friendship. She and her family are amazing.
Fast forward to Feb 11, we thawed four of them, transferred two, two sadly didn't survive, and one is still on ice. I found out that I'm pregnant for the first time EVER at 5dp5dt and have since had two betas that show a doubling time of just over 43 hours. My third is scheduled for Thursday.
I am so excited to join you all. For a while there, I thought it would never happen. It's just a miracle that we're pregnant with our adopted child(ren) who have been "sleeping" for over ten years! I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around it!
