Opinions wanted - which coach diaper bag?

I am lucky enough to live down the street from a Coach Outlet (it's the devil) and found a pretty good deal on this diaper bag last week.

coach tote

Overall it's great - but they only had it in brown w/an orange stripe- which I'm not crazy about.

Today however, I got sucked into the outlet's online shop, and found a different one I'm leaning towards:

messenger bag

Here's my question -

Bag #1:

has a zip top/tote style
Price is about $200
Is about 15" wide

Bag #2

has top flap that's more messenger style. A coworker told me she had the messenger style and the flap drove her crazy getting things in/out.
Price is right around $100 is making it literally half as much as bag #1
is about 2 inches less wide than top bag (13" vs. over 15") - does that seem small?

Do you think the flap top is going to really be that annoying? The price is much better but I want to make sure it's not going to be a nightmare before exchanging the orange tote. I'm a first timer here so am looking for the pros advice! Thanks in advance!

I personally didn't like the top one, it got downgraded to the back up bag. I much preferred my backpack/ messenger style. It wasn't coach so I'm not as familiar with the 2nd choice but the one I used was roomier. I also liked the flap because it kept everything contained. The other just seemed open and disorganized all the time.

Id pick 2!

Didn't look at links but a zipper is nicer because you don't lose things BUT the flap is better because you can stuff it and overfill. Try to figure out which one will hold the most in an efficient manner. Most times you are sticking your arm in quickly, hoping to pull out whatever you need as fast as you can get it.

I have a tote style Coach diaper bag. It's chocolate brown with yellow lining. I never use the zipper, so I don't know if I'd like the messenger style better. I do like the bag, but it's heavy even when empty. You can find some good deals on the bags on eBay if you don't mind buying used. I do prefer the tote style, but I personally wouldn't spend that much money on a bag where I didn't love everything about it.

I have one similar to the first bag you posted. I am not a fan. It's bulky and awkward to carry. I use it as a spare bag to keep in the car.

So I would try number 2 and hope it works out better for you.

I agree with your friend in that I've had messenger style bags and they are a pain to get into. I much prefer something with a zipper on top.

it looks like the online outlet store has the black and white one you pictured in your first pic. I would get that one! I think it would've easy to get tired of the orange and brown.

I love my coach bag! I have a grey leather one, and love it because its also really easy to wipe down!

I have the exact one shown in the first picture, and I don't really care for it. Had trouble finding things, keeping things organized, and it's heavy. Right now I'm using my husband's Diaper Dude instead haha.

As pps have said, I didn't go Coach because their bags are too heavy. By the time I added all the crap I carry around, my bag would weigh way too much. I ended up with a nylon Kate Spade from the outlet. I like that it is lightweight and can be wiped down easily. More pockets is better, and you will probably need bigger than you expect. I have not tried using a messenger bag but I get what your co-worker was saying. I frequently have my bag unzipped so I can just reach in and grab what I want.

I do not like messenger style bags because they get in my way. I have a Coach diaper bag similar to the first choice you have and I really liked it for DD2. I just got a Ju Ju Be bag that is larger and has more organizational pockets since I will have 2 in diapers.

I am getting bag #1... Have been wanting since before I was pg... However it does seem heavy... $200 is about what I've seen them for recently... HOWEVER, I also live near a coach outlet and the colors on clearance change A LOT! I've seen the signature with a wine color "stripe" down to $136... Keep checking back and see if a suitable color goes on clearance! Plus if you are still aways from actually using it, keep tags and receipt, they exchange/money back indefinitely!!

Go with no. 2

The handle on the first would drive me crazy. The second would be more functional and you can adjust the big strap and hang it over the handle bar on your stroller.
