So if this is disgusting is a picture of a just born newborn disgusting? Cause it's the same thing...
Frankly yeah, a picture of a newborn fresh out of the vag who hasn't been cleaned yet is a bit disgusting. It's only cute when it's your own kid.

this, but its not just a matter of someone thinking its disgusting, some of us were worried that it might be hard for a loss mama to see. I dont see why thats so hard to understand...
Can you move the warning to the beginning for us mobile users? My first thought was it was a still born baby. I had no idea what a veiled birth was, I had to read down in the comments since it wasn't even explained in the initial post.

Born in caul right? They've always broken my bag of waters, the last one pretty much as she was coming out, I've always wondered if she would've been a caul baby
Wow. Whole bunch of panties in a wad up in here!

haha this. I am TOTALLY going to everyone's thread who posts nb baby pics and exclaiming GROSS! Think of the women who had losses!!! Add a WARNING!

Ok apparently my sarcasm font isn't working today. But ftr, you can't have your cake and eat it too. It's a newborn baby. This one isn't any more gross than ones out of caul.

PGAL ladies you might want to avoid my reply here I apologize I am going to get graphic. I also apologize for the quote tree whenever I try to cut it my browser messes up and wont let me post.
Soleil- since you seem to have not only missed the point, but continue to push the issue Im going to spell it out for you. Its not a matter of this picture being gross, we all get its a newborn baby and its a normal thing. What your not getting is that seeing it in the sac like that can trigger painful memories for some of the PGAL ladies. I did not miscarry naturally so I didn't have to see anything, but some ladies were not so lucky. For some who miscarry naturally they have to see everything and often the baby comes out with sac intact. So seeing the sac covering a baby (even a healthy one) is painful.
No one said there was anything wrong with this picture or that it shouldn't be allowed to be posted, just that a simple warning would be appreciated so those who don't want to/cant handle seeing it can avoid it.

it was sarcasm KT. And replying to someone else isn't "pushing the issue", its having a conversation. Chill the fluck out.
When I was 7 I witnessed my cocker spaniel have puppies and they came out with the sac. Then she ate it.
Just like puppies!!!! was my very first thought. Very cool picture. Thanks!

sarcasm concerning ladies who have had losses and their feelings on something potentially hurtful was pretty rude so no I won't chill out on this one. I rarely ever get involved in drama/debate on this board
I saw this on an episode of Baby's First Day. Apparently in some cultures kids born with the sac still in place are considered destined to do something special later in life.
I think I read that the Dalai Lama is chosen as a young child and one of the requirements is that he must be born this way. Fascinating.
My uncle shared this on facebook and I thought it was very inappropriate for facebook - it is shocking to see at first. I am glad you put the warning and even before I scrolled down to the picture I knew what it was going to be. Once you know what it is, it is very neat to see. Definitely not something I would share on facebook though. It is true - just like puppies are born! I've witnessed puppies being born and it is amazing.

I personally think this picture is wonderful it I understand that initial reactions could be upset and anger without knowing what it is.
What I don't understand though is how the miracle of birth, even with all the fluids etc that come with it can be considered gross.

I too, have read this in some of my historic novels.

Wow, that is fascinating! I had no idea babies could be born like that.
My water broke while I was pushing, seconds before he was born. Crazy to think he was almost born in the sac.
My apologies. It was a bad joke and I should've just apologized.
Ok sorry about the celeb reference.
Commencing memory swipe.
