AW - BF success after 6 long months!

My DD has never nursed well enough to really be successful at it. She was in the NICU and unable to nurse and then she had a posterior tongue tie that kept her from doing it well. We had her tongue tie surgically corrected in December and afterwards she wanted absolutely nothing to do with nursing. I've spent the last 6 months nursing DS and pumping for DD...that is until this morning! I decided to try to get her to latch this morning and it worked! She actually nurses better than DS and it was such a lovely bonding time this morning. I couldn't be happier. This breastfeeding stuff is such hard work but when it finally pays off it feels so great! Thanks for listening to me brag. I'm just so thrilled!

So happy for you! I was able to get it figured out at 3 months pp, and nursed for about a week. We had to stop due to severe breast infections that I had, but it is the best feeling!!! Congrats!!

This makes me tear up. I'm SO happy for you. What a beautiful experience that you were able to nurse her after all this time. I hope she's able to continue.
