We have a Gabe and Lucy and we are thinking about Annie for baby 3.
DH's mom's name was Anne, and passes away threw years ago.
While I don't like the idea of using her exact name "Anne" we like the name Annie.
Two questions ::
1. Is Annie a stand alone first name?
2. What are some middle name options?
We have an Italian last name.

OK. I'm not the biggest fan of Annie but...that is an adorable name!
Our daughter's middle name is Rae my soon to be born niece will be Lily Mae, so as cute as that sounds. That can't be an option for us.
Any other MN options?
I think that Annie is totally fine at any age.

I think Annie is adorable, but I really don't like it as a FN. I think this is one of those names that should stay a NN.
If you're not into Anne, have you consider Anna or Ana? You can still use the NN Annie.
Some others to consider
Anabelle
Anastasia
Analiese
Antoinette

Now for a middle name option?
If you use Anne then I like longer middle names. I like traditiinal names so Anne Catherine, Anne Elizabeth....
My mom's middle name is Anne, but she goes by Annie. It suits her fine and she's obviously a grown woman. Annie as a standalone name is fine, I think, as long as it pairs with a cute mn (like PP's suggestion of Annie Mae).
It's good to see you're considering Annette though - love it!
Cute! I agree with the posters that said it works better as a NN for a longer name. Annette NN Annie is really sweet.
Annette Grace?
Annette Marie
Annette Christine
Annette Paige
Annette Olivia
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
