HCG before transfer?

Hi Ladies! Has anyone ever heard of or had HCG put into their uterus at embryo transfer? I had never heard of this until a friend of mine just had it done for her transfer. She has the same doc as me and told me to ask about it, because they are finding that it helps with implantation. I guess it can help stimulate receptors in the uterus. But it is mostly used for older women and women that have had multiple failed cycles or miscarriages. I don't fit into any of these categories, but my doc said she is going to use it for my transfer. She has had great results with it and is using it more often with her patients. The concern I have is that it is adding fluid to the uterus, which can disrupt the uterine cavity. I trust my doc and want to do anything and everything I can to enhance my chances for success, but it just feels strange that I've never heard anyone mention this. Does anyone have any knowledge or info on this? TIA!

I've heard of it, I think they call it an HCG 'booster'. I didn't get one though so not really sure when it's appropriate and when it's not.

I have been reading about it while looking up neupogen research. They do it the day before transfer. My RE has mentioned using HCG on me this time but I was assuming it would be the injection until now. I'll have to ask which method he is planning on using. What problems are you having that this is being considered?

I'm having this done with my next IVF. It's my understanding that they add the hcg in at the time of transfer. I thought that's the way everyone did it so I'm curious now to see if adding it the day before is the norm. Anyway, my clinic only adds 500iu. Such a very tiny amount. I can't imagine it's significant enough to be considered adding fluid to the uterus. I am doing this due to repeat ivf failure, age and I'm hoping to improving the uterine enviroment since I have endometroisis and suspect toxicity.

I don't have any fertility issues. That's why I am not sure as to why she is using it for me. The nurse told me to think of it like acupuncture. They have had a lot of successful cases where it has been used, but these cases could have also had success without it. Who knows? But if it can't hurt, why not? It's an extra boost, I guess. I'm curious to hear what your doc says about it and how he uses it.

My doc uses it at transfer too. I was told the hcg gets loaded into the catheter with the embryos and goes into the ute with them. I think mine also uses 500 iu, and like you said, hopefully it's such a tiny amount that it won't cause any harm. It sounds like you are a great candidate for this. Hope it works for both of us!
