Acne shmacne

Hi! New here! Due in aug and was wondering if anyone else was dealing with acne/blemish problems. I have had clear skin all my life and just now starting to break out, bad too! It's even painful! Anyone deal with this with prior pregnancies? Or know when it'll start to clear up?

Re: Acne shmacne

  • I have always had clear skin but 1st tri my face broke out pretty badly. I am in my 2nd tri now and it has seemed to pass now.

  • I'm due August 10th and have HORRIBLE acne also!! I just ordered Quasar Led lighting to try.?... I have read amazing reviews on these and it is safe to use during pregnancy!
  • Same here. I have had occasional blemishes here and there before pregnancy but my first tri was harsh! My face, my back, shoulders, and chest were all broken out! It's cleared up now and I'm in week 16!

  • I can totally relate. My face isn't any worse than pre-pregnancy, but my back and shoulders look horrible! I know you can't really do much, but I've been using every kind of exfoliation I can find that isn't medicated!

Yay! Someone else that is due 8-6!

On the acne note, my face, neck and chest have been terrible. My OB said it might get better in the 2nd trimester, but so far no such luck. It's easier to hide now since its cold(here anyways), but once summer comes around, I have no idea what I'm going to do. I'd love for any suggestions!

    Married since 10-2-2010!!

  • I'm due August 5 And I don't know whether to call it acne or not. I was on BC for 10 years and didn't have any problems with my face but seemed like as soon as we found out about our LO on the way my face took a turn for the worse. Not zits really but I can tell my pores are clogged and not the same.
This is my first pregnancy and I'm 16 weeks almost 17 I keep looking forward to this"pregnancy glow" but I'm not so sure ill be one of the Lucky ones

  • I have pregnancy acne but not nearly like I did with DD. I only have it under my chin. For DD I had it all under my chin and jawbone as well as my chest and back. It was bad and it lasted the whole time. I never wore a swimsuit once and was due in June. Way embarrassing. I use Bare Minerals makeup now and it completely covers it.I layer it up big time and you can't even tell I am wearing makeup to cover up acne. It might not cover protruding bumps somewhere else, but it does the trick for me!

  • I had horrible acne in my first trimester. With the advice of some ladies on here I bought the Belli line and love it!! It did wonders for my face. It is made specifically for us preggo so I trust it is safe.
  • I'm only at 13 wks. but have had acne bad for the last 8 wks. or so :(  I haven't found a cure all, but I found Lerosett which is a clay mask.  They had a free trial ($2.95) for shipping, so I gave it a try.  Been using it for 3 wks. now and can at least see some of the redness is down.  I called and asked about extending my free trial, and they were kind enough to give me another 21 days and a new bottle---figure at this point you can't beat free!!!  I'm going to give it another couple weeks and see if maybe it'll keep working :)  The other thing that I've been trying is Tea Tree Oil---it seems to dry them up so I'm going to keep using it.  Thanks for sharing this because I truly feel alone in this pimple business LOL---all my friends who are pregnant have beautiful complexions and it's just disheartening.  Good luck everyone :)
