What's everyone think about the chit chat board? So far it's pretty one direction themed. Just curious if any May mommas had checked it out. I guess I just don't get it.... well that and my younger sister (12 yrs younger) is obsessed with 1D. So I just can't handle it. I mean her room is COVERED in 1D stuff. I can't talk though, I remember my n*sync days!!! (and I still listen) Geeked

Is it a new board?

Maybe it's just me...but I'd rather the Bump Gods focused on fixing the broken parts of the site over creating new boards...

They made that board so all the ridiculousness of the Nov 2013 board could go there and the Nov 2013 board could be used for it's real purpose.

Dumb.

ETA: it actually really bugs me that TB catered to that kind of immaturity by making them their own board.

100% agree, They have so many boards to pick from already. And honestly what kind of grown woman is obsessed with one direction? wtf! It all really does belong on the Entertainment board, and I don't get why they just "couldn't handle how dumb the E board is". It sounds like teenage girls complaining about not being able to go to a party.
So if I didn't like the May board, cause I thought you guys were dumb, maybe they would make me a new one so I could talk about cool topics, like Justin Beiber and Twilight. And I could call people skanks, and talk about fake pregnancies, and how I screwed your boyfriend.

LOL!!!! 'zactly!!! It actually started creeping me out after being over there a bit. I mean, these dudes look so young and, I dunno feminine?? I wonder if there are like women in their late 40's over there drooling over them. blak! I dunno... it was just... weird. Tongue Tied

It was kind of funny when it started on Parenting as a joke, and maybe the first couple days of them posting on Nov 13...and then it got really, really weird. I mean, whether or not they really love 1D is none of my business, but...that is a lot of posting, day in and day out, about one particular thing.

Sigh, this! It was funny at first and then just got really creepy. I can't believe the bump would accommodate to the immaturity and yet have time to fix actual issues like siggy glitches and poll problems. Still, I'd rather not stoop to that level and wreak havoc on a board to try and fix the issue. It's not worth it.

Not going to happen. The unofficial unofficial word is that they won't be fixing anything, because they are gearing up for a new site update in a few months and are concentrating on that.

I was just joking earlier about trying to do something similiar to get clicky polls fixed. I don't have enough time on my hands for something like that. Smile

Ahh... thanks for clarifying. I was sort of imagining a bunch of people - flash mob style - flooding a month with ridiculousness. Guess it was sort of an accurate visual! lol

In my experience working with companies similar to the bump, forums are bottom of the totem pole. As moderators, you do what you can to monitor the masses and convey the needs of the community to the powers that be... but usually you do a lot of begging before they throw you a bone. It can be super frustrating. When I was a mod for a facebook gaming app forum, it drove me crazy that what seemed so obvious to users was unfathomable to the design/developing team. We of course feel like it can't be that freakin hard to stop the tickers from showing the wrong fruit and fix the damn clicky polls... they probably think if it isn't stopping us from using their service, it can wait. Luckily we have awesome Petra to prevent us from staging a coup. (That and, you know, most of us are much too lazy and mature and awesome to start a mob.)
