This is not meant to be snarky, and I only say that because in my head it sounds a little snarky, but is there a reason you're doing both at the same time? It may be easier if you did one or the other, get that down then work on the other. Just a suggestion.

I agree. I would never do 2 different things with Audra at once. I want to start weaning the bottle and paci and I chose to do the bottle first. That's what we're currently working on. Then it will be on to the paci. Good luck though!
BFP #1 6-8-11 EDD 2-19-12. DD born 2-3-12 via induction due to pre-e.
BFP #2 9-7-13 EDD 5-22-14. It's a GIRL! DD#2 is on her way.
I didnt take it snarky at all. She goes down for nap and bed really great with her paci but since we didnt give it to her at bedtime she was freaking out. I gave in after an hour and just gave the paci to her, she went right to sleep. Major Mommy fail *sigh*
Personally, I feel like as long as she doesn't have her paci ALL DAY LONG that it is perfectly acceptable for a 1 year old to use it to go to sleep. Landon gets his for naps and bed time and occasionally if he is out of control in a public place as an emergency. I feel like this is a battle I will cross when he is older to understand why I am taking it away.
Now that he is getting older I keep it for naps/bedtime and teething moments. I don't see the need to wean it.
Sometimes he's just whining and going insane I give him in his paci and he's happy. Some children need it to soothe and he's one of them. When I catch him trying to talk with it or it's hanging half way out of his mouth and he's playing with it. I take it away.
Just my two cents, they are going through so many changes. Walking, Sippy Cups, WCM, etc no need to take things away that aren't killing them.

Yeah, I think I'll give it a rest for a while. I just keep thinking about kids that are constantly attached to them when they are 4, talking through it and I don't want dd to be like that. Like you guys said if she's just using it for naps and bedtime then I'm just going to roll with it, she's transitioning really well with everything else. I just need to chill , thanks ladies!

I was anti-paci forever, but my child needed one.
