  • Yep, I LOVE being a teacher!!!
  • Yes, I am a Paralegal.
  • According to potential employers, being a lawyer has nothing to do with psychology. In my past life I was a customer service rep for Blue Cross, so I think it's fair to say I used my psych degree there :)

And Jill, I saw your post about going back to school... I'm still considering going to nursing school to become a nurse midwife. I really wish I had done that instead of my current educational disaster!!

  • sure... being a SAH wife is like hospitality work.... i wait on my hubby hand and foot
  • Yes and No.

Yes- Family Studies: I majored in this because family is EVERYTHING to me.

  • I'd go to nursing school but couldn't deal with it.  It takes a special person to be a nurse.  I really want a job in healthcare though, your so clueless about what you want when your 18 though and picking a major, blah.

  • Kind of. I needed the BA to get a teaching credential, but the last job I EVER wanted was teaching. Now I'm in my 8th year and loathing every day I have to go there. Unfortunately, it's the only stable job in the country these days (at least if you're tenured and in a secure district). If I won the lottery, I'd call the next day and tell my principal to take his crackhead ideas and shove them up his a$$.

  • Yes, I have a degree in Architecture, and I work at an Architecture firm.
  • Nope. Although to be fair, I don't have a job in any field right now because, well, I don't have a job. So much fun paying back loans for a degree that hasn't helped me get a job. Yay!

  • I SAH, but I do WAH on occassion in my field as Architect friends need help (I set my own rates, so it's nice).  I never had problems getting jobs or work in my field...but it might be harder now w/ the economy slowing down.  I hope when I do go back to work (in 3 or so years) it will be better.

  • im in nursing school right now and trust me its just as much an educational disaster/trauma to your life as any other degree.  its SO much work and my brain feels like its going to explode everyday.  being pg doesnt help bc i cant remember anything! but it is very rewarding when u actually get to work and are able to help people..

  • Not my undergrad degree, but I knew that I would be going to law school at some point.

  • I did.  I worked as a clinical engineer for over 3 years.  Then I decided to stop kidding myself that I was happy as an engineer, so I quit last summer and I have gone back to school to become a Chiropractor.  If I stay on my current planned schedule, I should be done in August 2011.
  • ha ha no.... i am a certified dog trainer and i work at a mortgage company. go figure.

  • Well, sort of. ?Management Info Systems major w/French and Studio Art minors in undergrad. ?And then a Masters in Art Education. ?I work in an Art Gallery coordinating exhibits, etc.. ?So, I'm in the arts field.
  • I went to school for 6 long years for animal science...I sit in an office hovered over blueprints.
  • Yup my undergrad was in print journalism my masters was in New Media.  And I now work at a newspaper as a web producer/video editor.  But honestly I don't enjoy my job. I'm not a reporter never wanted to be one, I wanted to build interactive site for a news website.  Turns out that doesn't happen very often.  And well to be honest my heart just is not into it. I want to do something that I feel matters so once hubby is up for review to work full time at the end of next year im going back to school to get a teaching certificate to teach English and then eventually become a reading specialist. That's my plan!
