My LO LOVES to be bounced with on the exercise ball. I usually hold her in a cradle position. No matter how upset she is, within a few big bounces she is usually calmed and then some smaller ones really soothe her after that usually putting her to sleep. Anyone else's baby love the ball?
I always make sure to support her head...I do some pretty big bounces and she always seems to like them, do you think any harm in big bounces? Seems like the bouncing would be the same as a baby in a jumper and probably more smooth since it is a fluid motion. Do you do big bounces?
Re: bouncing bouncing bouncing....
It is a life saver! Thanks for the reassurance! It's such a smooth motion, but I do some big ones- it calms the biggest of melt downs. In the Happiest Baby on the Block book it said something about bigger motions having a greater calming effect, so I think that's why I thought to do the big ones. Her head never thrashes, and neck never moves the way I hold her. I had company today and did it because she was over tired and melting down, and never thought anything of it..after my friend left I was like OMG I hope she didn't think I was too rough with my baby. I don't think she thought anything of it really, I'm just obsessive
My mom was able to put her down in her crib last night and she put herself to sleep. I am astonished.
