breast pump question

DH has a child from a previous relationship and he has the medela breast pump new in the packaging. This system was purchased ten years ago and has never been used. Would you feel comfortable using it? I would hate to spend big $ on a new one if this one would work fine. Thoughts?

Re: breast pump question

  • FTM so I don't know how well they hold up. You may want to ask on the breast feeding board. But, check with your insurance. Most are paying 100% for pumps now thanks to Obama care. You could possibly have a brand new one!

No such luck with my insurance, but thank  you for the advice.

  • If it is still sealed in the box, it is as good as new!  Go for it.

I would think this as well. The only thing I would think about replacing is the tubing, because that may not have held up well over the last 10 year. But the motor itself should be perfectly good.

    Yes

I'd get new BPA free bottles to pump into, but the rest should be fine.
