I've asked before but... Lyla and Isla?

I already feel like a PW but my last post made me want to ask this again...

We have a 5 mo. old niece named Lyla who we are very close to.  If this LO is a girl, they will be less than a year apart.  They will be together a lot since MIL provides childcare for us two days a week and Lyla 5 days.  I am really loving Isla but have counted it out due to the rhyming names... would this be a deal breaker?  Again hopefully they would grow up very close and they will be together a lot.

Edit: If the LO is a boy they will be less than a year apart too, but you know what I mean... ;)

    I don't think it's a big deal.  I mean, so their names would rhyme, that's all.

    If Isla is THE name, use it!

    It will be a bit of a pain in the butt for your MIL, but they're not sisters so I don't think its a big deal. My brothers name is Christopher and our first cousins name is Christopher, it wasn't a big deal.

    If you can't fall in love with another name, use it!

    Dd is Aida an I told sIL she should use Adra if she loved it. They are almost the same!
    Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever!     I love the name Isla, use it if you can't fall in love with any other.... but my oldest niece is Kadyn and my SIL named her youngest kiana... tho they don't even rhyme everyone gets them mixed up all the time including me... so regardless people can mix up names... food for thought

    I'm Kristen and I have a cousin Christopher.  We both went by Kris/Chris and grew up a few blocks apart.  It wasn't a big deal at all.  I'd use it if you love it.

    If you love Isla, don't count it out because it rhymes with a family member's name!  (I love Isla!)  My SIL's fiancee's mom named had three children and named two of the three John.  Now that, I side eye.

    So she has a John, Name, John?  That must have been rough on the two boys.

     

    I would use Isla. I don't see anything wrong with it.

    Sorry but to my ears these two names don't rhyme at all.... They are both gorgeous though, so I wouldn't let it stop you from using it!

    They have the same ending sounds, but I don't think they quite rhyme to me either.  A true rhyme would be something more like Lyla and Ryla or Isla and Kisla.  (Made up names, but you get the point)  :)  I like Isla!

    If you absolutely love the name use it. If not, I would use something else.
