At 10 weeks you can get a Maternit21 blood test that will tell you with 99 percent certainty about Down syndrome. This test is also called Harmony, I believe.
Screening by first tri screen can be done when they measure the nuchal and take a maternal blood sample starting around 1112 weeks. Screening by MaterniT21 can be done even earlier. They just alter your maternal age related risk. Diagnostic testing by CVS can be done starting around 11 weeks or amino at 15. They actually look at the chromosomes and determine if your baby has Down syndrome.
Are you planning to abort if your baby has Down syndrome?
Who in their right mind would ask this question? Wanting to know whether or not your child has an extra chromosome does not mean they would want to terminate. Perhaps she wants to do all of her research and understand what complications and difficulties her child could face to be better prepared to parent? It is none of your business!

1000% this. What a rude and left-field question to ask someone who is seeking information about timing of a certain test.
