I ordered the snugabunny swing from Walmart and after waiting 2.5 weeks for it to arrive it never did. I emailed them and they responded saying it was lost or damaged and then they refunded my money. Seriously?! Anyhow, I am wondering if I should go ahead and just order it from amazon. I am a miserable failure at putting down drowsy and nurse or rock her to sleep. I was reading at troublesome tots and she says a swing can be a good way to help babies learn to fall asleep on their own. What do you all think?
G is 4.5 months and a crappy napper. I think if we it we would do naps in the swing and continue night sleeping in her bassinet.

Re: Should I get a swing or not?
The swing has been an absolute godsend for us, but she's also been using it since she was about 4 weeks old. Especially now that she's congested and needs to sleep upright.
However, it's expensive and she probably won't need it for much longer. Can you borrow one or look for one second hand?
Coops swing has been put away for at least a month now. I wouldn't bother at this point IMO....

I say yes if you plan to have another kid but no if you're not.
Although the weight limit is 25lbs (which my 5m old is almost at, actually), you can't use the swing once LO starts sitting up either, because they will try to sit up in the swing (even if they're strapped in.) So if you're one and done, buying an expensive swing like that really won't be worth the 1 month you get to use it.

This is us too. Right around the four month mark DD has zero interest in being in the swing. I would definately look for one used or try to borrow one.
DD got a LOT of use out of her swing- actually she still does, but I still wouldn't recommend it at this point. DD weighs between 14-15 lbs, so she's not huge, but she looks like she fills the swing up. She also arches her back a lot to try to climb out of there if she's fighting sleep, so we definitely make use of the 5 point harness.
All that to say, by the time you'd get the swing, there just wouldn't be enough use left in it for a baby your LO's age to make it worth the expense. Those of us who are still using a swing are most likely in the process of transitioning out of it.
This.
L started refusing to nap in her swing in December sometime. She sits in there for a few minutes at a time as long as someone is in the room with her so it is still out, but she is quickly approaching the weight limit and if the shoulder straps are not on her she sits up.
I would probably not spend the money on one now.

Yeah, I found one on there for $80, and since I can get it new for $100 I was just going to do that. We are planning to have at least a few more kids so it would get use, but now I am leaning toward not getting it as so many of you have said it's not getting much use. She is only 15 pounds so the weight limit isn't a big deal.
Guess I will have to help her learn to fall asleep on her own some other way maybe. That website makes it sound so easy...
This. We are about to put ours away because Gwen is trying to sit up in it.
This. We use ours constantly but it caps at 25 so we only have a little longer with it.
