For those having/had a 3D US...

Having elective 3D ultrasounds was recently discussed, and I'm just wondering for those of you who went or who are going...who did you bring with you? Anyone besides your SO?

My DH and I are not agreeing on this.  I thought just us, or bringing our Mom's would be nice... but he seems to think the more the merrier.  I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that.

I called the office to ask how many you're even allowed in the room, and he said they've had as many as 14 guests (wtf?)  ...

    I had my cousin (he's like my brother), SO and my mom with me at my last one. They typically allow only 2 at the MFM clinic I was at, but they made an exception. I honestly would reccomend no more than 3-5 if they allow, but would get the DVD and share that at home with everyone. Have fun (:

    We had one with DD#1. We had both sets of our parents in there with DH and I. It felt a little crowded honestly. I'd find out if you can get a dvd and maybe just have it be the two of you and then invite people over later to view the dvd.

    The place I'm going to allows up to 25 people!! I think that's crazy and am inviting all the soon to be grandparents!

    The elective ultrasound place we went to had a few sofas and multiple big screens and could have easily comfortably accommodated 12 guests. I think elective US places generally have larger rooms.

    We're having one while my parents are in town for one of the showers in a couple weeks. I was going to get one with just DH and me, but I know they feel a little left out being so far away, so I decided to schedule it such that they would get to see her live!

    Mine's at the fetal medicine department at the hospital so they don't allow more the two guests I believe.

    The tech at MFM did a 3D/4D ultrasound for us on monday since baby was cooperating and she finished the growth measurements pretty quickly.  It was only for a few minutes, but it was nice that it was just DH and I in the room to see the detailed pictures of Peanut for the first time.

    My OB office offers elective 3D, but they request that only two other people attend with you for this type of u/s, since it is still at the doc's office, and their u/s rooms are small.  

    Since it's not medical and just for fun, I'm going to take my mother and grandmother (the grandmother Lily will be named for).   My mom has been whining about "not being involved enough", and since I wont let her attend doctor's appts with me, she is excited about this.  Hubby dosent mind, and they give us lots of printed pics and a DVD, so he will see it at home.

    Thanks!  I think I'm going to compromise and we will invite both sets of parents (all 4 grandparents-to-be)

    DH thought we should invite our siblings and their spouses, but that's just way too many for me.  They can see pics and the DVD if we get one :)
