DS has patches of dry skin on his body shoulder, thighs, arms, etc. I use lotion on him morning and after bath. We use kiehl baby lotion and cetaphil cream. What are you using that helps dry skin? Does anyone use any kind of oil?

Johnson's baby oil. Just use a little bit on the area. Also, Aveeno products have worked for me. Anything that does not have perfumes and more natural ingredients will probably work. Good Luck.
My son has it on the backs of his arms and calves (my mom and brothers both did too). It's harmless. Our pedi said he can prescribe some steroid treatments and scrubs if it becomes unsightly when he's older but generally there is no real treatment.
We use Eucerin lotion in general and Aquaphor for anything really dry.
We use BabyGanics Eczema lotion. It works so well. Before that we had tried Californa Baby lotion, J&J Baby lotion, & even Gold Bond. Those lotions didn't seem to help at all. After a day of using BabyGanics we noticed a great improvement in DD's skin.
I use the Earth Mana Angel Baby Butt Balm after his bath when his skin is still damp or coconut oil you can buy at the grocery store. The oily consistency seems to stay on dry patches longer but both soak in quickly. Also, it doesn't hurt that he smells so good!
I've tried using (literally) about a dozen different products as i wanted to avoid anything petroleum based but the only thing that has actually worked is Aquafor, particularly when applied to damp skin. All dry skin was healed within about 72 hours.
I may try a few of the other products mentioned as I would rather not use the petroleum items, but that's just me. LO has awful dry skin on her face too, so I'm always looking for ways to heal this safely.

Could it be Keratosis pilaris?

us too! I use the bath wash and lotion
All of this! It's the only thing that worked for DS.
