We had our elective on Friday and it was absolutely amazing. Besides the fact that they
were a half an hour behind... It was such a relief to see those babies
on the screen again. I cannot believe how big they are getting. I
loved seeing the spine and ribs!
She got a quick look at both
and I looked for the heartbeats and when I found them I completely
calmed down and allowed myself to enjoy the rest of the ride. Then she
scanned to find what she was going to call Baby A. She said that she
assumed that the MFM's office called the baby closest to my cervix, A, I
confirmed (although they call them 1&2), and she went with it.
Now usually the question in a sex determination ultrasound is, "Peen,
or lack of peen?" We quickly saw some peen! There was no denying that
we have a boy. We looked at him for a while at some different angles
before we moved onto Baby B.
As she was finding Baby B we got
a funny shot of A's face right up in B's butt. B was pretty much
sitting right on his face. The tech stopped and laughed and had to show
us how funny she thought it was that "he has his face right in HER
butt!" Then she went on to say that she thinks it's a she. With some
better shots we confirmed lack of peen on Baby B! She showed us some
between the legs shots like she did with A and although we could see the
umbilical cord between her legs, it was a very different look. She
showed us the vaginal mound and the lines that were the folds of the
labia.
I cannot even explain to you how over the moon we are.
So in love with our babies. This is really the perfect scenario for
us. We now have zero pressure for any more children, we get both our baby boy and baby girl at the same time!
There you have it! We are Team Purple!
