camera help plleeeease

So, I have a Nikon D50 and lately I've been noticing that it's taking really dark photos. For example. This morning I was shooting in a well lit area - ISO 400 - and I had to set my camera to 1/30 at F3.8 to get a decent shot! What is going on?! That's ridiculous. Any ideas, S12 photographer ladies? I feel like there is a really simple answer to this.  I would really like to avoid cranking my ISO to 1600 or so to avoid grain, but it seems like I literally have to do that lately, or I have to significantly lighten every shot in photoshop. hmmmmm.
Me: 27 DH: 28
Diagnosis: PCOS, irregular cycles, old lady eggs. DH is fine.
Started TTC in January 2010. BFP December 25, 2011 between IF appts. 
DD born August 31, 2012
Began TTC again in Jan. 2013. 
Four rounds of Clomid - BFN
Fifth round of Clomid September/Oct - cancelled
HSG scheduled for Oct. 30 - Tubes all clear
December: Round one of Femara  - BFN
Round two - ?

    A girlfriend of mine had this happen a few weeks ago, I'm pretty sure she has the same camera.  I'll e-mail her and see what the fix was.  I'm pretty sue it was something easy.

    Do they look dark when you load them on the computer or is it just on the display screen?   My Nikon D60 has that issue.  The display looks super under exposed but when I load them on the computer, they're perfect.

    They look dark on both screens. hmph. I need to learn more photoshop tricks haha

    Has your white balance been changed or perhaps a filter on your camera?  Do you have a polarized filter on your lens that may be turned the wrong way?

    White balance is on auto and my filter has been the same for several years! Oh camera. Why you gotta hate?
