I work for a defense contractor and handle all the exports for my division (multi-sites).  I enjoy what I do and love that I work with people from all over the world!

  • I'm a business analyst for a big insurance company. I work from home 100 of the time...when baby comes, I'll take normal maternity leave then will need to use daycare. Definitely not possible to do my job while taking care of a child.
  • I would love to work from home! At least part time, and really probably could do most from home, but my boss likes me in the office. I'm the Director of Revenue for a mid-sized doctor's office.
    Married DH <3 : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat)
DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18
FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!

  • I am a photographer at a local studio.

DH shoots weddings with me on weekends, and is a sahd.

  • I have been a SAHM mom for a year and love it:)

Before that I worked in fashion sales for most of the past 12 years, which was really fun.  I worked for designers such as Prada and Manolo Blahnik.  And for 3 fun, crazy years from 2004-2007 I worked as a cocktail waitress and VIP host for a couple major nightclubs in Vegas. It was quite an experience.

  • I'm a police officer and will be coming back to work after baby comes. I'm gonna try to take at least 6 months off. DH is an officer too so we can work our schedules around to limit day care.
  • I am a SAHM to my 18 month old son. I also work about 35 hours per week for my old company as a Technical Writer. Im also the marketing rep for my region for one of the major baby food companies.  It's a lot of work but I wouldnt trade it :)

  • I'm current working and going to grad school full time. Im a dietitan. I will return to work after maternity leave. My grad school is an online program so I will be able to cut back to one class next semester to make it doable when baby comes.

  • I'm a mostly SAHM. I work pt, about 15 hours a week, in retail management. I love being able to get out on my own a little bit.

I used to work from home with my company, but decided it was too hard to get done what I needed to while taking care of DS. And if I waited to do the work during his naptime or bedtime, I was just too tired. I miss the pay of working more hours, but much less stressed now that I just work at the location and not from home anymore!
     DS1 8/2011. DS2 8/2013.

  • I am a working mom, I work in the buying office for a major national retailer. It is a busy life but luckily I am on the low end of the ladder so I only work 40 hours a week. I also make bows and sell them, looking to grow that business a little more to supplement some income that I will lose on mat leave.

  • I have been going to school as a pre-nursing student, but had to take this semester off because my morning sickness has been so bad. I do not have a job right now, but I plan on being a SAHM after baby is born anyways. I guess I'll just have plenty of time to nest once I start feeling better!

  • I'm a working mom. I work as a geologist in an underground gold mine! So during the day I escape and enter what feels like a different world! I would love to possibly be a stay at home mom, but I just love my job so much, and have put so much dedication and time into my education. Baby will be going to daycare once my 12 month maternity leave is over!

  • I work weekends at a hospital here as an xray tech. I basically work 7 am to 7 pm and get time and a half. Essentially I'm working 24 but get paid for 36. Its how we plan on avoiding daycare.

  • I am a school districts ESL coordinator and K12 ESL teacher English as a second language. This is my first year in this position but prior to ESL I taught 712 special education English. I wish I could be a stay at home mom, but I don't see that happening for at least a few years if ever :
  • I am mostly a SAHM.  I teach Irish dancing twice a week and I am a Pampered Chef consultant too (but that is really just for fun).

I was a Curriculum Specialist for a school district before DD arrived. I loved my job and I do miss it. I hope to return to education when our kids start school.

  • I'm an Interior Designer, and I work in an office in Manhattan.

I have a 2 hour commute one way... it's hell.  I want to be a SAHM, but I think realistically part-time situation is what I will do is my boss will go for it.... I still need to figure this out.

  • I work from home as a Relationship and Sex Coach, and Weight Loss Coach. When LO comes I will initially take 3 months completely away from the business, then will be focusing on my online programs during nap times etc until LO is 1 year old after which we will consider part time day care.

  • I'm a Medical Assistant in a Cardiology clinic. I'm currently a temp, and it does not look like I will be hired on, due to the pregnancy. So I am praying to have a job after this assignment ends, and to be able to have a job after the baby is born.

  • Full time Grad student, which means no maternity leave for me...just classes and interning after LO gets here!

  • I'm a trial lawyer, I hope to be able to work modified hours where I don't need to physically be in the office everyday once our LO gets here
  • I suppose my proper title would be office manager. I do the payroll, bookeeping, advertising, HR, client contracts, permit filing, etc. for a small construction business. I am the only one who works in the office. Unfortunately, since I work for male relatives, I am mostly referred to as "the secretary". Confused

I am hoping to take off 3 months and then come back part time. However, I might need to come back sooner as no one here knows how to use our accounting/payroll software and they don't seem too keen on hiring a temp. I think they are in denial.

ETA: I am hoping to enroll in a Masters program in the next two years in order to change careers.

  • I'm a singer/songwriter with ASCAP...once my babies arrive I will be able to be home with them all the time!
  • I am a working mom (well soon-to-be!). I work from home 2-3 days a week and in the office 2-3 days a week. I do corporate sales for a chocolate company. It's b2b sales for employee/client recognition/appreciation, holiday gifting, special events/tradeshows, new product launches, gift with purchases, etc.

  • I am a support staff sub for the local school district which is basically a classy way of saying sub custodian while my husban is in school, once he graduates i will be a stay at home mom.
  • I'm a full time in-house graphic designer and illustrator in an art department. Trained as a painter but fell into the graphic design work as a way to make a consistent income doing something creative.

I do some freelance work as well. I'm looking to step up the freelance work once the baby comes and hopefully one day transition into 100% freelance work.
