Trying to Get Pregnant

Basic biology of SPERM!

Waiting for my period to show up tomorrow but hoping it doesn't. I'm not expecting a BFP though. I'm estimating that I O'ed on January 30 or 31 (I don't temp just yet).  If DH and I BD 3 or 4 days prior to O, what is the REAL liklihood of conception?

I know that sperm can live inside the body for 3-7 days but I'm wondering how likely it is since they suggest HIO ED or EOD after a positive OPK.

 Thank you ladies.

Watch The Great Sperm Race, it explains better the benefit of HIO ED or EOD. Basically, the sperm can live, but they have to survive long enough to get to the "sperm friendly" area of your reproductive organs (fallopian tubes). More sex = more surviving sperm.

  • I would like to add this in there.. I always felt like EOD was good enough since sperm could live for 5 days inside.. but when my RE office asked how often we were having sex or what our timing was and I told them every other day they suggested that may not be enough.. so ever since then I try for every day right before O.
