Hi! I finished my last pack of BC in January and I am waiting for my period to start. If I were still on the pill I would have gotten my period about 5 days ago. I've had PMS symptoms for the last week but still no period. I am anxious to get it so that I can start charting and trying to figure out my ovulation day. Should I be using an ovulation kit? It seems like many people are using one. I am 34 years old turning 35 this year. Thanks!!

All ALers welcome!
My last period ended jan 13 which was the period I got after the "week off the pill" I only had sex 3 times since then so I doubt I'm pregnant. do you need to buy an ovulation kit every month?
for me, went off bc in aug and promptly had the light on bc period right away. then i had my first AF in Oct which was like 50 some days later.
My cycles are still irregular so I find OPKs to be helpful. If my cycles are so regular that I can kind of predict my usual O days I may consider not using it. but since I'm still irregular and i see multiple fertile CM in a cycle I don't know which one is the real FW, i prefer to use OPKs every cycle. I am taking bbt too but so far my temps are also everywhere I have not seen 3 day temp rise to pinpoint O day.
CLOMID: 4 rounds, 50mg + TI = BFN's. FEMARA: 1 round = no response
12-24-2012 : Laparoscopy, Softball sized cyst/endo/scar tissue removed.
Cycle #14 - Feb 2013 : 50mg clomid. Ovidrel Trigger. IUI on 2/14/13 = thin lining, multiple cysts.
Cycle #16 actively trying (May/June): Femara, TI = BFN
Cycle #17- #20 - Med/Treatment break, trying on our own = BFN's all around.
Cycle #21 - Femara, MORE Femara, Ovidrel and a Christmas IUI = BFN
Welcome. My first cycle off the pill was 36 days. Your body could take some time to find it's new normal. That normal may or may not be the 28 days it was while on the pill.
