For those of you that are still BFing and planning to nurse for 1 year. When are you planning to wean and how exactly are you planning to wean?

    I'm planning to slowly drop nursing sessions... I've actually been working on dropping from 4 to 3 now. Then I'll add cows milk during the day or a snack to replace nursing. Before bed and in the morning, he'll get a sippy of milk. That's pretty much how I did it with DS1. I'm a little worried bc DS2 is a little more attached to the boob, but I'm going to go very slow so it may take sometime to be done!

    About a month ago I replaced our afternoon nursing session with a bottle of formula (usually about 6 oz).  LO still nurses morning, late morning, and before bed.  At some point I'll replace the late morning session, but I'm not really in any rush.  He is pretty attached to the boob too though, so we'll have to see how he does, but I think slow and steady is the way to go.

    DD#2 is a year now and I have no solid "plans" to wean.  I have dropped a pumping session at work so I only pump once a day at around 1 pm.  I get about 6 oz so I think i'll keep pumping at least to keep my boobs comfortable.  I'm donating this breastmilk to another mom because my DD doesn't even take a bottle of milk while I'm at work.  She eats plenty of dairy just won't drink milk unless it comes from me. 

    We're still BFing plenty at home.  Every 4 hours or so she BFs.  AND she's still waking up at night to BF.  I'm ok w/this since she's not drinking milk during the day.

    I imagine at some point in the next few months I'll stop pumping at work and just nurse when we're together.  I also imagine we'll probably wean in the next few months but it makes me sad to think about!
