Peeing in a jug...oh joy

Have to start a 24 hour urine collection but the labs are all closed because of the blizzard hitting CT so now I have to wait until Sunday to start it. I almost made it to the end without having to engage in this pleasant activity.... Not looking forward to fishing the jug out other fridge every time I have to pee Sunday night :/

    I had to do that with my last pregnancy.  Sorry you have to do it too. But instead of keeping it in the fridge I just kept it in a bucket of ice by the toilet.  That way it was always there.

    I just finished a 24-hr collection; they gave me an insert for the toilet that I used to pour into the jug, and I kept the jug inside a plastic bag in the fridge (couldn't lug ice/bucket around at this point!). One of the lab techs told me I could keep it outside which seemed amusing. Hope your test results are ok!

    I had to do that earlier this week. Now I'm worried my results will be off bc i wasnt told to refrigerate my jug at all. I just kept it in the bathroom next to the toilet.

    Lurking.. But I also had to do this and ended up filling up the first jug in the middle of the night... I didn't want to have to do the whole day over again so I ended up wasting a Tupperware container... Not to mention it was embarrassing to carry into the lab and hand to the lady who had to pour it into another jug herself! Moral of the story ask for two jugs just in case!

    I had to do this last week. I would recommend using a small soft cooler with ice packs in it to keep it cold. We only have one bathroom on the second floor and I was not carrying the jug up and down the stairs a million times! And I used this to transport my present to avoid embarrassment! Good luck'

    Me too! This is the second time this pregnancy I had to do this! I learned from the first time to ask for two jugs because last time I almost didnt make it, it was litterally filled to the brim. I hope you weather the storm well, I live on long island and we have about 4 inches already!

    I haven't had to repeat this "fun" with this pregnancy, but I did last time.  The only thing better than having to pee in a cup is trying to collect it in a jug! I suspended it out the bathroom window on a jump rope.  That way it stayed cold (DD was a Feb baby too) and I didn't have to put it in the fridge. 

                    We're Going to be a Family of 5!
