Fluid question (TMI)

Hey ladies, have a question on some fluid/discharge. After sitting t my desk for awhile, I stood up to get something and felt a weird pop and a small gush of fluid came out. It was clear and had a really sweet smell, definitely not urine. I haven't had any other gushes, put have a pad on and the sweet smell is still very apparent. I am 38w2d and dr appt his week said no dilation but cervix has softened. Anyone else experience this. I have read that amniotic fluid could smell sweet and not sure if this warrants a call to my OB? I appreciate any thoughts on this..TIA...

    Call! Many describe their water breaking as a pop like u mentioned!

    If you haven't called yet, DO IT NOW!!! 

    That doesn't sound like normal discharge AT ALL.

    Update in case anyone experiences this. OB just called back and said not to worry. If it was amniotic fluid it would keep trickling so he wasn't concerned. Said it was likely just discharge.

    Huh, go figure! What intrigues me now is the "pop" you mentioned. Hmmmm... Anyway, thanks for the update and I'm glad all is well! :)

    I had this SAME EXACT THING happen yesterday.  Pop and all.  My doctor said the same thing.  It's just discharge, even though it was completely watery :(  Bummer!
