DS playing too rough at daycare

DS keeps trying to climb and wrestle the other kids that are not interested in playing with him. He is very big so he sometimes hurts them. The teacher assures me that he is just playing-not angry/agreesive.

He is super sweet at home but we do play chase and run around a lot. Is it my fault? Has anyone else had this problem?

I've been speaking to him a lot about being gentle to friends and our kitties and showing him. He does it for me and seems to get it but then he tackles the kids at his daycare! We are both fun parents and never fight around him or anything like that.

 If anyone has had sucess in stopping this, please let me know what you did!

    I'm thinking its a phase. K plays really rough. He's not in daycare, but I'm sure if he was he would be getting in trouble.

    Is he in a class with kids his age or are they any older ones? They wont tell you if other kids are being rough too, but maybe hes just doing what he sees? K tries to keep up with his sister, and doesn't that his tickles hurt. He thinks he's doing the same thing as her.

    There are 8 other kids his age (2 teachers). No older kids at our house either. I really hope its just a phase! I would think this kind of thing would be normal but they said he is worse. oh man.....

    Im not sure how comfortable asking for special treatment, but this is what we did at DC when L was about this age. Her daycare had someone shadow a biter, to see what was causing him to bite. Then the shadow would prevent the bite and try to elliminate the situation. Then after a week or so, it was no longer an issue.
