I had my baby on the 24 and I'm going back in 3 weeks to get a my tubes tied can I still breast feed? How long do I need to wait before letting him nurse again? HELP
Talk to the dr who is doing the surgery to be sure.
You should be able to BF until you get general anesthesia and you can BF once you wake up from that (some say you should wait a few hours after you wake up). Some suggest pumping as soon as you wake up so that you don't loose your supply and then dumping that.
There is no reason to stop nursing or pumping. If you will be away longer than 3 hours, pump when you would regularly nurse. Tell your docs and the anesthesiologist that you are breastfeeding, and they will make accommodations.
