So I just started my online classes this week to finish up my BA degree. I'm pretty excited about it but at the same time I'm having one of those "oh crap what did i get myself into" moments. I have a 5 year old step daughter at home and trying to balance that with school will be an adjustment enough let alone adding a newborn to the mix. Not to mention yesterday DH said "I just hope you can handle it when baby is born". I really wanted him on my side to support me, not doubt me. Im nervous enough as it is!
Is anyone else going back to school/planning to continue school once LO is here? Am I really this crazy thinking I can do this??
Re: I'm boarding the anxiety train!
Good thinking. I'm also balancing a 40hr+ work week. Luckily I have an office job that will allow me to work on school stuff during my lunch breaks. But I can't depend on 30 minutes every day to get it all in. And obviously I won't have the luxury of "lunch break" when I'm at home with a newborn! lol
I'm right there with you going back to school. I'm in the process of signing up for online classes for this semester. When I did classes last semester, I did a lot of studying during naptimes and at night. That's my plan for now too.
Good luck!
I have a 21 year old daughter. When she was two years old, I went back to college full-time and got my Bachelor of Fine Arts. I graduated when she was six.
Fortunately, my husband's work schedule allowed him to watch her while I went to class. But, she was there while I studied for every test, worked on every project and wrote every paper. It was good for her to see her momma work hard at getting an education and she was not worse for the wear. Sure, sometimes I had to read the same paragraph 5 times before I actually comprehended what my eyes were scanning, but I graduated with 8 semesters of straight 'A's and summa *** laude.
You can do it. You totally got this.
[EDIT: I cannot believe TB censored 'summaCUMlaude.' Hilarious]
Worried about how I'll juggle things. Where there's a will there's a way.
I didn't realize you also worked full time---wowza! That is a full plate
but all of that hard work will pay off.
