I have been trying to do some research and my head is just spinning, lol. I currently have a 3 year old daughter (almost 3 1/2) and son who is almost 2 months. On top of this I will be nannying part time for a girl who is now 10 1/2 months. My daughter can pretty much walk everywhere, but I would like to have a seat for her in case we go somewhere with a ton of walking, but typically will use the double for my baby and the girl I will be nannying. I was originally looking at the City Select, but would prefer something more compact since I will be using the second seat for my part time job/as a backup for my daughter. There are several Phil and Ted strollers that look good, possibly the Britax B-Ready, or the UPPAbaby Vista with Rumbe seat... Am I missing any? Does anyone have any reccomendations? Opinions? Experience with any of these??? Thank you!
Re: Single stroller that converts to double (xp from PAL)
I love my city select. I have even used it as a double with a 4 year old on a toddler board (so 3 kids total) and it worked great.
I would check out holly Schultz (baby gizmo) on up you tube. She does fantastic reviews of strollers and puts every kid of almost every age in the stroller.

RE: The Free Ride Event -- It's only 15% for Britax, right? They have the 2012 in the black for $339.99 (online) right now, so we were planning on going this weekend. So wish I could get that full 25%!
ETA: I am losing it today. I am mixing this up with BRU's Trade-In event. Duh.
Yes, the Free Ride event is maybe once a year. However, if you are getting the B Ready, I would look into the Registry Rewards program, you can qualify for a free convertible car seat!
The main difference I've noticed about the city select vs the other seats you've mentioned is that the weight limit for the second seat is 35 pounds for most (and 45 for the select). I don't love the idea of putting a small child basically on the ground so that steered me away from most other options, since DD is already over 30 pounds.
That being said I went with the select and don't like it at all for the reasons someone else mentioned. I'm actually trying to sell it since I haven't bought the attachments yet, and plan on getting a double jogger instead. Ill use that for long outings and my regular single for short trips (hate the select as a single- way too bulky).
