The Wall. Anyone else hit it?

So... I am eating my words.  One week ago I was still running 3 miles around 4 times a week with walking at times.  I will be 35 weeks tomorrow.  I had a bout of gastroenteritis this past week and am over that  but all of a sudden I feel like I hit the wall of prego.  This is my second and I didn't feel like this until 38-39 weeks last time around.  I am bloated, have a ton of pressure and can't sleep or even feel comfortable at rest much less exercising.  OB appt this past Friday and everything is fine.  What happened?  Does this mean this baby is going to pop out sooner?  Anyone else?

  • Congrats on making it so far running!  I ran up to almost 37 weeks (the day he was born) with DS.  But I was feeling great all the way up to that day.  I really thought I had weeks to go until my contractions started that evening.  So I'm sorry but I really have no thoughts on whether hitting the wall means your baby will be earlier this time.  I hope you are able to get more comfortable until the day arrives!

  • I didn't workout when I was pg with my first 2. Well, I did for maybe 10-12 weeks with DD1. With DD2 I had a crazy busy job and no time. This time I've been consistently lifting weights 3 days/week and doing some cardio.

A few weeks ago I had to really slow down on my cardio. I used to warm up at 3.5mph on the the treadmill and then walk at 4.0mph. Now I warm up at 3.0mph and walk at 3.5mph. Anything faster, and I start to get cramps in my lower belly. :(

For weight lifting, it started a week or two ago (so 30-31 weeks) that it just seems to take so much more effort to lift the same amount of weight. I'm definitely not going to be able to keep increasing the amount I'm lifting in the next 7 weeks. I'm just hoping I'll be able to maintain. The thought of going backwards is kind of depressing.

I'm impressed that you've still been able to run as long as you have!
