recommend a lightweight umbrella stroller for tall dads

I was so expecting to love the BJ City Micro, but I don't. :(  All that price stalking for nothing.  I'm kind of lukewarm on it.  I guess I should have tried harder to find a store that had one I could play with.  We currently have a Uppa Vista that we are in love with, but it is just too big to take on planes and we travel fairly regularly because family is several states away.  DH is 6'1 and I'm 5'4.  The micro was a great height for him, but it just doesn't fold small enough.  I also can't get over the fact that the travel bag costs nearly as much as I paid for the whole stroller! So Micro will go to Craig's list and I'm hunting again.

Requirements -

-not too short so DH can comfortably push it

-lightweight

-compact fold

-large canopy - DD already has super sensitive skin so I imagine she should avoid the sun

-recline would get bonus points, but not required

  • We have a chico liteway that I LOVE. I am 5'9" and my hubby is 6' and we can both push it nicely. It folds nicely. And reclines almost flat.

  • Uppababy G-luxe does all of those things.  I've been pretty happy with it so far, but I'm not IN LOVE with it.

I was looking at the gluxe but I had a hard time justifying the price despite my love affair with my vista.

  • We also have a Vista and got the G lite recently. We didn't care about reclining. And I'm very happy with the G lite. I don't have anything bad to say about it.

  • Can't say from actual experience, but the Maclaren Volvo was recommended as a good one.

  • Cybex Onyx is great for tall parents.  I really like the Valco Snap features too.

  • I'm 5'5 and DH is 6'7 , we have the uppababy G Luxe which works for both of us perfectly. Light weight umbrella that reclines, and a huge canopy

For a regular stroller we have  city mini GT, it has an adjustable handle bar which works great

  • We also have the Chicco liteway (purchased at Toys R us). My husband is 6'1" and I am 6'0. But my friend is about 5'5" and she really likes it too. I like that the sun shade is adjustable and the seat fully reclines to lay flat. This has been a great airport stroller! You must get a bag to protect it because airlines are often sloppy. But it is super easy to fold and unfold and I think a decent amount of storage. Its pretty lightweight and not flimsy feeling. If I leave my diaper bag on the handles with no baby in the stroller it will usually tip over. I think the harness is a little weird and the piece between the legs is kind of short, but that is my only complaint. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
