All week I've been dealing with a NASTY cold. There was one morning I woke up certain I had the flu, even though I didn't have a fever. I called my GP asking if I could come in for a flu test and she told me that while she'd be happy to fit me in, they will not give Tamiflu to pregnant women. That is directly opposite to what the midwife at my OB practice said. I'm so confused. Has anyone taken Tamiflu? I'm not going to, mostly because I am pretty certain I don't have the actual flu, but I'm irritated with the differing doc opinions.
Re: Tamiflu while pregnant
Here is an article from the FDA

I was diagnosed with Influenza A and ran a fever that kept climbing back up to 102 (it would go down to about 99 for a bit and then go back up). I was worried about taking Tamiflu (and posted about it here) because there were conflicting "reports" about it, but in the end, with my OB's approval, took it and got better faster than the first time I had Influenza A and wasn't offered Tamiflu.
I agree with Petra that Tamiflu might not be helpful for you because it needs to be taken in the early stages of influenza. I hope you start to feel better soon!
This.
