Gagging is actually helpful, developmentally. The gagging is what tells them "Hey slow down or you've got too much in here." Infant gag reflexes are much closer to the front of the tongue than for you and I so gagging doesn't mean they're in imminent danger of choking.

good to know!
I notice she does it with thinker consistency foods I puree- like sweet potatoes.
I guess she really couldn't choke on a puff, but it's scary non the less!
Perhaps I will try again and see.
