A good friend of mine has this. She has crazy periods now, not very predictable. She's had it a long time now too, over 2 years I believe and it's still like this. I considered getting it myself but decided against.
I had it for 5 years. With it I had major cramps (needed to take 600-800mg of Ibuprofen), heavy bleeding and my period lasted 10-14 days. I hated it but it worked....
With out it I have light periods do not need to use more than light tampons, no cramps and it lasts for 5 days.
I had it for a few years. I also had major cramping and super heavy periods. But it worked, and I never had to remember to take a pill every day. I looked into getting a Mirena, but my insurance wont cover it. I'm not sure that I'd get another Paraguard because of the issues I listed here.
