Vocabulary

What words are your little ones saying now?

DS's vocabulary has expanded to Mama, Daddy, Gihgih for our dog Guinness, baba, Yay, and most recently, the worst word a kid can learn....NO! Anytime I try to put him down in his jumper or playpen or down in his playroom so that I can get something done he will start kicking his legs and wiggling and saying nonono!

  • babbling, no actual words. She says dada, nanana, and ga. I think that she trys to say dog because when she sees them she says da.
  • No actual words yet. Sometimes it sounds like dada or mama or oop (our dog is Cooper- we call him coop sometimes). I don't think they mean anything yet.

  • DD says mamamama, but mainly when she is whining and I don't know if there is an association or not. She also says dog and ball and she definitely knows what those are. The funny thing is that we don't even have a dog, but we do have pictures of our dog that passed and she always wants to look at those pictures. She babbles a lot and I could swear that she repeats what we say sometimes! My DH thinks I'm crazy, lol.

  • Mostly babbling and growling here. He does say vroom when playing trucks with his brother which is so cute!

  • She says mama, dada, baba, and her name!  Her name is Ada, so it is very simple and she hears it all the time.  One of her favorite things to do is clap while repeating "Adaaaaa" over and over again.

  • Mama, Dada, buh bye the rest is baby talk!
  • "Mama" for me, "lala" for DH (she managed to say "dada" 2-3 times but I think it proved to be too difficult and she decided "lala" was easier), "BA!" for her cup and for some reason "RARARARARARARARARA!" when she's crying out of anger. Otherwise she's growling, laughing, or squealing at an ultrasonic level.

  • Mine both say mama, dada, baba and various other random syllables.  Neither of them really connect any meaning to the words yet, though (which I understand is normal for their age).  However, my daughter has recently started saying "nang, nang, nang, nang!!!" when she's upset about something.  She only does it when she's mad, so I'm pretty sure that's some sort of version of "no."
