I made a little basket with pb creme cookies, pb cracker sandwiches, fruit snacks, special k bars, heart shaped snack cakes and some various valentine's day candies.
I was induced last time and put a big basket of brownies and cookies together for them...all the nurses would stop by and thank us, it was really nice.
If I get around to it, I'll do the same thing this time.
I'm afraid I'll put it together and forget it, so I'm just going to have H run down to DD and get some coffee and donuts or something - if I remember. If not, I do want to try to at least get the nurses that are assigned to me a little something. In our hospital, we get one nurse per shift who takes care of us exclusively, barring any emergencies.
ETA: I worded that incorrectly - we're not the nurses only patient, but she would be our only nurse.

I'm hoping I don't leave home w/o it I had told H that we could maybe stop by DD and get some munchkins on the way to the hospital but then I was like no that's probably not a good idea if I'm really uncomfortable haha.
Yep! The feedback I got said that anything is appreciated, but that they love baked goods, so I'm going to have DH get stuff from Panera to leave at the nurse's station (one for day shift, and another for night shift).
I also am bringing individually wrapped cookies for people who visit. If you haul yourself to the hospital to visit me and my new baby, you can at least have a cookie.
I remember that the food in our hospital wasn't that great, and they didn't feed DH so he had to leave for every meal anyway so I'll probably have him pick up a box of doughnuts, bagels, cookies, etc. while he's out. I really like the idea of having something in the room for visitors, BUT I have no willpower when it comes to sweets so probably not a great idea to have a big box of cookies in my room

Just an FYI, but this may not work out like you are hoping. At my hospital I am not allowed to accept any gifts from patients because it crosses boundary lines. The only exception is if it's something that can be shared with everyone. Writing them (or their manager) a note after your hospital stay would be really nice, though, and is something they can put in their evaluation -- in my evaluations I get extra points if I get a note/letter from a patient.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!

Really good to know! Thank you!! I'll be sure to pack my stationary!
I'm a nurse and I must admit, we loooove it when patients bring us food . Seriously though, it's a really nice gesture. So yes, since I'll be the patient this time round, I do plan on bringing a goodie basket for the nurses. I'm thinking along the lines of donuts, cupcakes, or cookies and candy. Maybe kolaches. Haven't decided yet.
I might just bring a big bag of... something. Candy or cookies or something. I don't feel like going overboard. Plus, I don't really have a lot of $ to send on cutsie stuff :P

After reading your post I think I will get some cupcakes from the little bakery across the street from the hospital.
I love the idea of getting the nurses a thank you and maybe we will get even better care!

I do think it's a neat idea, though!
