Re: **Thursday Ticker Change**

  • Morning!!

    Week/Fruit - finishing out week 28 today!

Cheers - Booked Maternity pictures for mid Feb

Jeers - Feel like I might be getting sick - UGH!

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon - Got the curtains hung in the nursery!  Its coming together!

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not?  No, I feel like my plan is to have a vaginal birth, with epidural - and if anything needs to change it will.  No biggie!

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point?  I wear maternity pants, soft nursing bras, and maternity tanks...usually with my normal cardigans to save a little in clothes.  I actually wore my work pant with a belly band up to week 28, and just bought a pair of maternity work pants.  I'd rather spend the money in the nursery :)

  • Week/Fruit - 30 weeks today- a cucumber

Cheers - I am in the 10 week countdown window now.

Jeers - Feeling very unsettled with the current status of our nursery and house...the nesting phase has come on fast and DH doesn't get it. He keeps saying we have 10 weeks left to do everything- I don't want to do these things when I am 38 weeks pregnant!

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon - Dear Lord- I hope we finish painting the nursery. It's now week 2 of painting!

Are you writing a birth plan? Why or why not?  No written birth plan, but I do have some main thoughts in my head that i will vocalize- but I learned with DS that the best approach, for me, is to be open minded and trust the medical staff.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point? I am 100% maternity, or DH's shirts for sleeping. I only have about 4 pair of pants that work- so I do a lot of laundry these days.

    Cheers/Jeers

Cheers: Since I'm only staying with my winter job until I have the baby, I only have  9 wks left! I love the people I work with but I can't wait until I can go back to teaching. We have an ambitious project for this summer that includes starting more community gardens and possibly a community kitchen to teach food preservation on a larger scale and hopefully encourage micro processing entrepreneurship (and thus economic empowerment).

Jeers: I can't handle wearing pants anymore. Anything on my belly makes me so uncomfortable.  I have to deal with it while at work (veterinary hospital) because I have to wear scrubs, but maternity scrubs are somewhat tolerable, if not ideal.

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon

Nothing exciting this week. Just counting down.

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not?

No. I trust my midwife. She knows I can't have an epi due to spine problems and that I'm terrified of having to need c-section.  She said we'd get to the finish line the best way we can and I know that's true.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point?

Had to ditch my maternity wardrobe for summer dresses.  Layering the heck out of it to stay warm.

If somebody thinks they're a hedgehog, presumably you just give 'em a mirror and a few pictures of hedgehogs and tell them to sort it out for themselves.-Douglas Adams
  • Week/Fruit: 31/pineapple

Cheers/Jeers: Still feeling pretty good, although large. Some heartburn, but otherwise not too much to complain about. Working out is getting more difficult because I start cramping pretty easily so that's discouraging.

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon: Nothing coming up but we are almost done with the baby's room. Finished putting together the rest of the furniture this past weekend. Just need to decorate!

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not? I am because I'm a planner and want to have all my wishes in writing. However, I am not married to my birth plan and can accept that it may not go as planned.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point? Strictly in maternity wardrobe but I only really have enough to get me through one week, with some non-maternity cardigans thrown in. Some of my pre-pregnancy yoga pants still fit but that's only for around the house.

  • I can't seem to get my ticker to actually display, but here's my update.

Week/Fruit - 31 weeks today. pineapple!  (seems so much bigger than last week's cucumber)

Cheers - The nursery is really coming along -- we got the rest of the furniture last week (changing table, nightstand) and some accessories -- an adorable birdbath table lamp and a pretty cherry blossom pillow for the glider.

Jeers - I am dying to buy things for the baby, but my husband is making me wait until after the shower.   I don't even know when it is - he knows because his mom is throwing it.  I just hope we get the car seat in time to have it installed and inspected, I don't want to do this last minute!

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon I'm looking forward to the baby shower, but I have no idea when it is, only that it's probably in February.

Are you writing a birth plan? Why or why not?  I wasn't going to, but I started one after we attended the childbirth class at the hospital.  I honestly didn't think anyone really looked at birth plans, but we were assured that they do.  I wanted to make it clear that I only want an epidural if I specifically ask for one.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point?  I'm actually starting to grow out of some of my maternity clothes now!  so only maternity for me. It's starting to sink in how huge I am now, and I can't believe I still have 2 months of growing to do.

    Morning!!

    Week/Fruit - finishing out week 28 today!

Does this mean today you are 28 weeks 6 days?  Or are you 29 weeks today?  There is typically a ticker change posted daily, so you would post on the day that starts your new week.  You will see the responders below will all be A whole week with 0 days... for example, my ticker shows I'm 29 weeks and 0 days pregnant.

Just a heads-up, that way you aren't responding every day =)

Would they actually give you one without asking for it?  I've never heard of that.  I guess it's good to clarify!

Cheers/Jeers: cheers -- I'm sleeping incredibly well and feeling good.  Jeers: my sex life is non-existant, walking around is hard, and DH is on my nerves.

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon: kicks have gotten INTENSE.  Looking forward to maybe being able to see physical movement more than just a little jiggle when he kicks.

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not?  Kind of -- not a strict plan, but a few birth goals that I want to put down on paper and have communicated to my DH.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point?  Pants / dresses are maternity.  Tops -- it is MN winter so I can still wear some bigger sweaters!

    Good morning, lovely Thursday ladies!

    Week/Fruit

Week 29, I'm an acorn squash!

    Cheers/Jeers

Cheers: Still feeling pretty great, minus my jeers below.  I'm definitely getting much more tired and losing some of my work out motivation, but I think it's because I've been too busy to keep my regular routine the last two weeks.  I'm happy to get back in to it though, it's so motivating that we've had warm weather the past two days!

Jeers: Friggin' constipation had me doubled-over in pain for a day and a half. Still haven't gone after 2 colace and a dose of milk of magnesia, but at least the pain is gone. It's now officially been a week.

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon

DS's Big Boy Room is almost done being painted, so then we can get the carpet in there and the furniture.  Looking forward to pulling out all the baby stuff!  Plus we got DS's new 5 point harness booster this week, and our Joovy Caboose Tandem stroller so I'm excited to get those out and working!

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not?

No, I'm really just going to go with the flow.  I did that last time and it worked for me.  The anesthesiologist on call was stuck behind flooding because it was basically a monsoon when I was in labor, so I didn't get the epi when I wanted it anyway and once I did get it I progressed so fast that I only had 10 minutes of relief. I'm proud that I got through most of labor without it, but I'm not against asking for it again this time.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point?

I'm in only a few maternity items.  I have flowy shirts that I wear, and I wear all of my pants with a belly band minus my one pair of maternity jeans. I layer a lot to make sure the belly is covered.

    Enjoy your new week!

Cheers: Hmmm...struggling to come up with something positive....

Jeers: Sciatic pain is no bueno, although it has gotten better the last 2 days since I wore flats.  Wearing heeled boots today, will see if it comes back or if it was just exercise last week that made it flare up.

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon: Just found out one of my very good friends is expecting a baby in Aug.  Its the second LO for both of us, we both have little girls 4 months apart.

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not?:  No, nothing in writing, I'm not that anal!  Hoping my L&D goes as smoothly as last time, I know what I want (labor at home as long as possible, no pitocin unless 2 weeks overdue, get epi ASAP) but will be flexible as needed for the safe delivery of LO.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point?  Mostly maternity, but wear a few non-mat work pants with the belly band when I get sick of mat clothes.  Most of my sweaters & cardigans I wear to work daily are non-mat.  Getting more mileage out of my maternity dresses now, they are just more comfortable!!

  • Hi girls!

    Week/Fruit - 28/eggplant, right?

Cheers - Sitting on my laptop OUTSIDE in 65 degree weather (on a business trip and not in Iowa, where there is 6 inches of snow and negative wind chills)

Jeers - airplane feet that refuse to de-swell

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon - When I do get home, we'll finally put all the loot from our two baby showers into the room and start organizing and decorating!

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not?  I wasn't going to, but I am planning on it - mostly so I can remember what I want/don't want for newborn procedures and to help DH since he isn't a mind-reader.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point?  I'm in maternity pants, regular tanks, regular cardigans, maternity tops and regular pjs. Long live the Long and Lean tanks from Target!

  • Week/Fruit: 30 weeks, woohoo, what a milestone! Cucumber

Cheers/Jeers: Feeling B-I-G! Cheer: I wore a sweater today (none mat) that looks better on me preggers than not LOL

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon: I received a shower gift from a friend that can't attend.  It was very sweet of her and exciting to receive something from the registry.

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not?  Yes, we did, but I am not swearing by it because ANYTHING could happen.  I just wanted to formulate my "perfect" birth, in case any of it can happen.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point? Strictly in mat pants, but I have been able to wear both mat and non-mat tops.

Enjoy your new week!  I cannot believe there is only 70 days left!

  • Good morning, lovely Thursday ladies!

    Week/Fruit  Week 29, acorn squash

Cheers/Jeers  Cheers are that the baby girls room is painted.  Also for the most part the pregnancy has been good to me.  Jeers are that sleep is getting harder.

Favorite Baby-Related Thing Happening This Week/Coming Soon My shower is this weekend, yay!  So I am finally getting excited about setting up her room!  We also have another ultrasound coming up, so it's always nice to check on her.

Are you writing a birth plan?  Why or why not? I will probably write one.   I think it will also be helpful for MH to go over everything.  He has no experience with pregnancy/birth at all and is not one for reading up on it.  He tends to rely on me to give him information.  I think after our childbirth class we will sit down and talk about everything and write it out.

Are you strictly in maternity wardrobe, going back and forth, or wearing only a few (or no) maternity items at this point? I am pretty much exclusively in maternity clothes.  My camis, a few t shirts, and yoga pants still work from pre-pregnancy.

    Enjoy your new week!
