I guess I just don't think our need for fertility treatments was so dramatic and terrible. If we hadn't gotten pregnant, there are plenty of kids who need homes. Hell, the fertility issue is kind of a blessing now. Extra back up protection.

The cooler that came with my pump is a maybe 8 inch cube. It looks like one of those insulated lunch boxes and is capable of holding 6 5 oz bottles. If she is pumping more than that during the school day, she is a rock star.

3) You are not taking into account that she won't be able to leave her pump set up- she will have to set everything up, pump, clean everything, put it away, then go to class. There is a lot of added time to even your 10 minutes.
4) Doing both at once doesn't work for everyone. I got far better results going one at a time and massaging.
5) Last I checked, it doesn't take 50 minutes to change a diaper. And pretty sure taking a test requires a bit more concentration and deep thinking.

1. Meh, I was told differently and that staying at the pump too long was bad. By a really awesome LC, so whatev.
2. I didn't say I never had supply issues. I said my supply issues weren't due to lack of pumping. I don't think I'm an exception, except here. Everyone I know IRL BF pretty much the same amount of time and did roughly the same thing. No probs. I know because we work together.
3. I always set my pump up, pumped, and cleaned the parts when I was done. Still....I was in the bathroom about 15 minutes. You can go four hours without nursing or pumping. It's something that could be taken care of during lunch. As long as the school is a bit more accommodating.
4. Not as great results > no results
5. Regardless....you're going to run into things like that if you're BFing. It can be uncomfy. That doesn't mean "Well, give up, don't do it at all!"

The LC you had was an idiot, or was just telling you based on your needs, or most likely she said something and all you heard was "squawksquawksquawk". Kids need to be fed bm ever 1-2 hours; it took me 45 minutes to do both sides, and about 5 minutes or more to really clean the pump.

Brandi Bee having one child does not make you an expert. With DD I found breast feeding easy. I didn't understand why it was a struggle with some people. Now I have DS where barely a day goes by that I don't struggle with feeding him. So please do everyone a favor and STFU.

Also, your argument of "we'll the women I worked with did the same thing and never had supply issues so whatev" is anecdotal and, surprise!, outside the norm.

Here's a tip...To be able to formulate a strong argument, you need to be able to not only see the other side, but address it in a constructive, respecting and articulate manner, none of which you have demonstrated.

Oh hai, let me introduce myself. I am a mother who EP'd her daughter from about 2 weeks - 6 months old. Guess what the hardest part of my newborn child's life was? That flucking pump. Yes, it took me 30 minutes to pump. Sure you're not hooked up to the machine of death for 30 minutes but you need to clean your parts, store your BM, and walk to and from the room.

I cried more tears during pumping, and stressed more about supply issues than I did about all the other newborn issues combined.

People who think its "not that hard" pisss me right off.

Actually, I'm not.
GM's whole argument was that her school was correct in recommending she not BF because it would take too much of her day, which is a crock of shiit.  I don't care how many others come to defend that and say it took them five hours to pump an ounce or whatever.   1. We don't know how pumping works for her and 2. When I pumped, I usually had the full amount that I was going to get within the first five minutes and the remaining 5-10 were for stimulation.  And I know I'm not the only one who had a positive experience with pumping.  Maybe on TB where everyone is still crying about the evils of encouraging BFing when their kids is now three and has been drinking whole milk for years now.  But not IRL.
"Pumping takes a long time" isn't a good enough argument for what the school did.

FFS Brandi Bee why are you such a beast? Why are you are so rude and self righteous?? It must be nice to have such an easy breezy time with everything and to be so very perfect.

My PPD made breast feeding success almost impossible and I nearly had to be medicated after 2.5 hours of pumping produced 1.5oz of milk and a very serious emotional break. I had a MW, an LC and some very helpful nurses and support at home. It just didn't happen.
