I"ve been searching and searching for a double stroller! I know that doubles are bulky and sometimes heavy so I wan to make sure I choose one I'm going to like. Here's some of the things I've thought about so please consider when recommending yours! I know I might be asking a lot in a stroller so I tried to put my list in order of importance as I know I might not be able to get everything I want for my price. (max $200-$250- preferably less).
Additional info: My kiddos will be about 2.5 years apart. We live in a town- there are many sidewalks. I think a side by side would fit- but it'd be tight. We don't go for walks/out in the winter much because it's so dang cold here but the stroller is used a lot in the summer as we only have 1 car right now. It would also be used for a Disney trip in October (baby will be 4 months) and inside places like the mall. We will also use it for places like the aviary or the zoo. Originally I wanted a jogging stroller but after reading that baby can't use until 6 months... So that's out for now (but i'll be back in a year or so for those recs!)
I want my kids to be comfortable and safe. Those are top priorities.
Generally I'm not a fan of sit and stands, but this is one I like because the carseat would fit. - https://www.amazon.com/Graco-Ready2Grow-Stand-Stroller-Metropolis/dp/B005VM63X0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327429766&sr=8-1
-DS#1 would be comfy in the front seat while baby can stay in car seat. Once baby is old enough to move out of carseat, DS will be closer the 3.5. *For those who have sit and stands, do you think your older child would prefer an actual seat or do they like the ability to stand?
Right now we have a pontiac sunfire, and so there's not a lot of trunk space and won't be much backseat space with two carseats so it needs to be able to fold up pretty compactly.
I'd prefer a stroller that is easy to put up and down and is light (we live on a second story)
I would like there to be a good sized basket and drink holder for me and kiddos. In summer, long walks and trips to the grocery store are often.
While I love bright colors, I'll worry about that if there are options in the stroller that I find. We'll have 2 boys tho- so no pink
Bring It On!
Thanks in Advance!
Re: double stroller recs?
A sit n stand like you have linked above will be fine for your price range but FYI it will be bulky, turn crappy, creaky, and heavy.
You will need a "real" double for long walks, disney, longer trips to the mall and most 2.5 year olds need a "place" to nap or rest. The sit n stand is good but even at 2.5 they will stand up and just walk off as you are moving when they see something they want.
We have a city select which is a single that can convert to a double with stadium seating, you can drop a car seat in it, I have a toddler board so I can do toddler & single, turns easily, not bulky, but it is out of your price range (unless you can buy one used). We also have the city mini GT (side by side) and it is very wide ...but fits through a standard doorway, this stroller is great with two toddlers but for baby +toddler I highly recommend the city select. I have learned through almost 5 stroller purchases you get what you pay for with doubles
DS1 will be 26 mos when DS2 is born. I have looked into about every double I can find but I keep coming back to this Baby Trend sit n stand Double stroller, it can accomodate any brand of baby carrier and I can put the carrier in the back and the toddler in the front. I'm also looking at the Baby Trend Sit N Stand Ultra because I can put the baby carrier in the back where the jump seat is and put my toddler up front and save about $60 that way. Either way my toddler is being secured in a harness seat because I don't trust him to not jump out of the jump seat yet. When baby is big enough to sit in the harness seat then toddler will be old enough for jump seat IF I go with the Ultra. If I get the double it doesnt matter as they both have a harness seat.

Does your 4 year old sit in the bottom seat?
This is the stroller I want to get but wasn't sure about that seat placing.
