I faced a dilemma this past weekend and automatically thought of Parenting.
I am in the "always returns the cart" camp, but the cart thingy was full.
So what's the etiquette on that scenario? Do you take the cart back inside or leave it hanging out of the corral?

Re: Returning shopping carts
I am not returning it to the store.
Oh lawdy.
My Blog
It just automatically made me think of y'all.
FWIW I left it hanging out of the corral. It was cold and windy and I had DS1 with me.

I can't tell whether or not you're serious here
OK serious answer - I'd nestle it in the cart in front of it that's in the corral. Sure, maybe it sticks out a lil, but it won't go anywhere. If you just leave it near the corral, it can roll away potentially into another car.
Non-serious answer - What Ella said, because LOL!
Yep, this. You can always cram one more cart in, right?
Follow up question...let's say I don't have a panda costume, but I can dress up like Charlie's Green Man on It's Always Sunny. Acceptable or no? LMK.

Okay fine.
Put in in the corral, pushed into the cart in front. That'll hold it.
My Blog
how can the corral be full? the carts fit into each other... so keep pushing it into the cart, it may stick out of corral, but it's still there.
Just push it into the last cart. Returning a cart doesn't require much effort or thought.
Those huge car carts for the kids take up half of the corral. Our store has a half dozen of them.

Also, those types of carts don't nestle into each other so if that was the last kind of cart in there you wouldn't really be able to squish yours in. I'd figure out a way to make it work because no way would I walk it back to the store.
How odd. I know what carts you speak of, we have some too... But I have NEVER seen one of those carts in the corral. Do the stores near me not allow those carts outside or something?
When I was a kid, there weren't any corrals and my mom pushed the cart back to the store every time.
It was all so confusing, exhausting and risky. I don't know how she did it.
Are you being sarcastic? I'm Ron Burgandy?
Also I cannot see your new tattoo because my work blocks everything.
"some people, started singing it not knowing what it was...."
Of course you wouldn't.
and they'll continue singing it forever just because
BTW, I still run and jump on the cart and ride it as long as I can to my car.
not with DD in it....that would be irresponsible.
The other day I didn?t return my cart bc it was 5 degrees out, and I parked too far from the corral. Yupp it happened. I felt like some how it would set off a secret signal and everyone on the parenting board would know. Alas it did not happen.
I've got this alert system set up, and the moment you didn't return the cart, you appeared on my post it.
I'm watching you now.
Doesn't fit? Just shove it in there as hard as you can and make it fit.
Hehehe.
Cart corral.
They'll go get it as part of their job. (I was a bagger/cart wench at Kroger's as a kid, we all take our turn).
If it won't fit, don't force it!
If it doesn't fit, just spit.
GD! I was trying my best to avoid the post it list!
