Is it ridiculous of me to think that if we space our next child similarly (obviously if we can, which is always questionable), if DS is by then almost 4, will he be able to get himself into the third row of our car and buckle himself into a booster seat (5 point harness, etc.) type of carseat? Or is that silly to think he'd be able to do it by himself that early?
I know I'm nuts for thinking about another baby already, but I'm honestly thinking that is what is going to determine how we try to space our next LO.
Re: Also- because I'm full of parenting questions today & both LO's are napping...
My neighbor was watching my 4yo. She assumed he could buckle himself. He spent 20 mins totally unbuckled in her car.
I would make no assumptions. It depends on the kid.

That would really anger me. Big time.
Well crap. I don't want to wait four years for the next babe if we can control that.
Am I headed toward a van? We have a SUV right now with two bucket seats in the middle and a full third row. The only way I can see it working out in that car is if I have the two littles in the middle row and get them in that way. I could leave half of the seat folded down in the back and climb through the open lift in the back in the trunk to tighten and clip him in.
Does that sound nuts? Is there an easier way to do this in a van? You'd still have to climb into the third row with a van as well, right?
This. DS is 2 and can sometimes click the seatbelt part and always does the chest piece himself. But there is no way he could tighten it himself, and I wouldn't trust a kid at any age to tighten it all the way themselves.
I know two moms on my BMB with 3 kids, the oldest is 4, have SUVs with captain chairs for the two littles and the oldest in the middle of the third row.
