Drinking bath water

Sophie has started leaning over in her bath and trying to drink the bath water. I'm all for her trying to stay hydrated, but it grosses me out because 1. It's soapy water, and 2. She often pees as soon as we put her in. I've brought her straw cup in the bath to entice her, but I think she likes the sensation of her mouth and face touching the water. Does anyone else's babe do this? Is there any way I can keep her from doing it (and thus giving me peace of mind that she's not ingesting the muck of the day)?

    J likes to suck the water out of the washcloth. Gross! I have just started not letting him have it.

    No advice, but I'd be interested in seeing what others have to say.

    Aiden is obsessed with sucking on the washcloth in the tub, it also freaks me out. I use j&j lavender bath bubbles and Although they say non toxic I'm sure they can't be good for him, not to mention he pees in there too!  Ugh, no suggestions but curious to what others have to say.

    I gave up on keeping Ramona from doing this :-/ It doesn't gross me out that much though.

    That's funny because when I was little I used to love doing this... Not sure why I did but I distinctly remember doing it.

    Audri does this, I don't think it's horrible.  I do use an all-natural soap, though.  I know it's dirty water, but still probably 100 times more clean than regular drinking water was like 150 years ago...

    If you figure this out, let me know.  Ben actually uses the toys in the tub to try and drink from them.  They have holes in the bottom, so he tries to do it really fast before the water drains out.  Indifferent

    Ian loves drinking bath water! He loves taking the cup I rinse him with, filling it up, and about drowning himself because he turns it all the way up drinking out of it. He doesn't stick his face in though. It doesn't gross me out. I figure there are much worse things he could be doing.

    Yep, same for us. LO does all of the above - sticking her head down to the water to drink, trying to catch the water out of toys, and sucking the wet washcloth. I don't purposefully let her do it, but I can't really seem to stop her either. I try not to worry about it too much. She's been doing it off and on for months and never been sick,.
