My daughter was never a good napper until about a month ago. Before that I would get 3 puny 30 minute naps. Out of no where one day she started doing 1 and half hour naps in the morning (sometimes up to 2 hours) and additional hour in the afternoon. Her time between naps was about 2-3 hours. This was a blissful few weeks, however the last several days she has been fighting going down for her naps. Yesterday it took me 4 hours to get her down for her morning nap (once down she slept for almost 1 and a half hours) and then only took a 30 minute afternoon nap. Today she went down fine for her morning nap (which was about an hour and 15 min), but I have yet to get her down for her afternoon nap (two tries already) and it's been over 4 hours since her last nap. She doesn't even seem tired! No yawns, eye rubbing or crankiness that usually lets me know she needs to go down. She seems way too young to be losing a nap, right? 4+ hours between naps also seems a bit long from what I'm reading about typical 7 month old nap behavior. Anybody else experiencing this? Suggestions?

Re: 7 month old fighting naps
Something similar happened with my son about three weeks. We used to put him down for naps and he would fuss for about 10 minutes before falling asleep, but all of the sudden he started to alternate between playing, fussing and crying for 30-40 minutes before finally falling asleep and would then end up with much shorter naps. This lasted for about a week.
My mom suggested upping his waketime. So we tried it and realized that he's now capable of staying up for about 2 hours as opposed to the 1.5 that he was doing previously, and ever since, he has gone back to either not crying at all or just fussing for 10-15 minutes before falling asleep. So the problem has pretty much resolved. The only thing that is different is that ever since we changed his waketime his second nap has only been 30-40 minutes long, but the other two naps have stayed at about 1 - 1.5 hours.
