LL - Do you think this group is a lot different from the last group? Do you think this is the new Gen of 12-24 / parenting?
This board is more active than other boards, so I think it has potential for us to be together long term. I can't remember how we were 18 months ago. Part of me hopes we are still together in 18 months, but the other part sees what that means and that worries me. KWIM?
It's a more serious question and I realize this thread could be not so serious... but I've been wanting to ask how you're feeling now about your daughters skin?
(PS. We both have baldies, and fun skin things. Adiah has a hemangioma
TBH, I'm having a really hard time with it. While I'm thankful that its nothing more serious (that we know of, still have to see pediatric eye dr. in a few months), it still breaks my heart. I think of her when she's older, wanting to wear tank tops/v-necks/shorts/dresses, and I worry she's going to be embarrassed about the way she looks. The best I can do is try to instill confidence in her.
Taylor, How did you find out you were pregnant? nbsp;
Well I used to work in a deli and I was slicing Turkey and the smell made me so sick. It never used to bother me before. So the next day I was off work and had a couple tests lying around and took one and it came back positive. I was so scared and I was home alone. My fiance was at work so I told him when he got home. He went out and bought 4 more tests lol

Kellars: do you plan to teach your LO SPN with her Guatemalan roots?
ETA: or your SO really. Not you.
Yep. When I'm alone with her, I speak only English to her. When he's alone with her, he speaks only Spanish. When we're together, we mix it up and sometimes speak English, sometimes Spanish.
Kellers are you both fluent en espaol?
Yep! He's actually FROM Guatemala. He's only been here 6 years. I happened to take 9 years of Honors Spanish in school, and then have learned infinitely more from him.
how often does he go back to visit? When do you plan on bringing C?
He hasn't gone back and likely won't be able to for a long time. Immigration is a very tricky thing, friends. I'll likely be going in the next few months with Charlotte so she can be baptized there, which is important to him. No church here will do it because he doesn't have time to go regularly. It's ridiculous.

Oh man did you keep working there after that? I had MS really bad and pretty much gave up on life during first tri haha.
mrsnorry, How did you meet you husband? What is your thing about him?nbsp;
I met him at a party thrown by a mutual friend. My favorite thing about him is his utter love of cars and 49ers. He loves what he loves and doesn't care what anyone thinks about it!

You're a strong and loving mom for being honest with your self, and with me (us). She may surprise you. She may have this deep since of self-worth and self-confidence that makes her feel like an old soul. And you'll feel silly for ever having worried. She may teach you about self-love in a way you could have only ever dreamed of for yourself or your daughter. Wouldn't that be a beautiful (typical) role reversal?!
I have a good friend who has that mostly on her shoulders. She wears tanks all the Time. If it ever bothered her you would never know! She is a strong confident and beautiful women as I am sure your little love bug will be as well.

Yes I kept working there. My morning sickness lasted the whole 40 weeks but I went on leave at 36 weeks because it got hard to do anything. Alot of bending and lifting. I was the only one working most nights so I had no help. Luckily we had enough saved up where we could survive on one salary!

Anita: do you consider yourself AP or crunchy at all or just have some tendencies?
I don't think I can put myself in one box. I am a little crunchy. Wished I were more AP but my baby has other thoughts on this and doesn't like sleeping in our room and only occasionally likes babywearing. I am proof that you might think things will be one way but nature makes them end up differently.
AP, to me, is meeting the needs of your baby. So if he doesn't like babywearing or cosleeping, you are still AP. :]
Pay off student loans, pay off cars, move somewhere warm, pay off parents' mortgages, put away for Jack and other LOs college and travel [maybe have an apt in Spain?]. That'd pretty much eat it all up, right?
Do you love me? [sing it like fiddler on the roof] I adore you, Lois.
This sums it up:
Harvey: Me so horny. Me love you long tim. Pam Beesley: Who's "long Tim"? Harvey: Long time. Me love youa long time. Jim Halpert: Oh, well, maybe "Youa" should bring "long Tim" in one day. Harvey: You ruined a funny joke. You get out of my offive. Pam Beesley: Okay. Bye, Harvey Harvey: [long pause] Boobs.
So in short, yes, I love you.
Side note: I want some miso soup today and mentioned it to mh and now I can't get the me so horny song out of my head since saying it lol.
I have 3. Sorry. Blackbird by The Beatles. Champagne Supernova by Oasis. Today by Smashing Pumpkins.
Anita, since you're an awesome seamstress (from what I can tell) would you ever consider quitting your job and make a living creating things and selling them? Or are you more likely to stay in a traditional form of employment and keep your sewing as a hobby?

Hey, Allie. . I must have missed all of that about O's skin problems, I honestly didn't know she had any skin issues. She's still a gorgeous little girl who will grow up to be a beautiful woman, I'm positive!
hyaline: what colour of underwear are you wearing RIGHT NOW!!!!!
Psst. Your canadian is showing.
BME - what's your obsession with llamas? Have you ever owned one?
PS - I haven't read the whole thread yet so sorry if this was asked.
hahaha I love it when my Canadian hangs out!
Ummm well I actually really love llamas and alpacas. I first "met" an alpaca when I was working as a reporter for a local newspaper and this alpaca farm hosted a weekend-long open house on their farm. I friggin' fell in love. They have awesome hairdos and they're all fluffy. Plus they're pack animals so they can't be alone because they need other alpaca friends to chill with. I thought that was cool. I have always wanted a hobby farm where I have a giant vegetable garden and several animals like a donkey and some alpacas or llamas!
And now you know something really useless about me. haha
Me: 27 DH: 28
Diagnosis: PCOS, irregular cycles, old lady eggs. DH is fine.
Started TTC in January 2010. BFP December 25, 2011 between IF appts.
Taylor: What's the best date you've ever had with your husband?nbsp;And every time I hear the OC opening credit music it takes me back to the plywood shack of a house I lived in with four other girls in college!nbsp;
Its takes me back to talking to my friends on the phone all watching it together in 4th or 5 the grade haha
Best date: probably when we went go kart racing just last weekend! I had so much fun and of course I won! Lol he kept getting cut off by a little 7 year old.
Where was your favorite date with DH?

BME: Best book you've ever read. Multiple answers allowed.
And I heart llamas and alpacas. I made my best friend go with me to a craft fair because there would be an alpaca there. We were 27 years old. And we pet the alpaca like we were 5 year olds.

AHAHA I love petting alpacas. It doesn't matter how terrible your day is, you can't tell me that petting an alpaca doesn't make it better.
Ummm so I have several "favourite" books. In no order:
The Long Walk - Stephen King
Lullabies for Little Criminals - Heather O'Neill
The Glass Castle - Jeanette Walls
Go Toward the Light - Chris Oyler (Oiler? Can't remember)
there are more but those are the ones that stand out for me.

Go-karts--that sounds like fun! We've never been
Best date...huh. Our first date was swing dancing, and we danced a ton together ever since. Probably one of the nights we got dressed up and went to an old ballroom to go dancing. Makes me feel like I'm all fancy like in an old movie, Casablanca-style or something. And not to brag, but that guy can cut a rug
Re: Ask a bumpie anything
Taylor, How did you find out you were pregnant?

LB-what's your favorite type of music?
Favorite band/act?
Yes! And I still love it. I've been nearly every role, with the exception of a few shorter-girl-roles.
(TMI alert: In fact I conceived little miss the last time I was on stage in The Nutcracker. Later that night, that is.)

I guessed right!
That's beautiful! One of our girl names was Ada (a-duh) so that's how I've been saying it in my head, but I like Adiah better! So sweet!
Anita Are you TTGP soon? Or do you want more kiddos?
Oh man did you keep working there after that? I had MS really bad and pretty much gave up on life during first tri haha.
